In the era of network media,the way of mass communication has changed dramatically.Instant information interaction makes the rate of information dissemination faster,the content of communication is gradually fragmented and entertaining,and the communication effect and audience are gradually precise and vertical.As a mainstream genre among many online audio-visual programs,online interview programs also present many new features in this media ecological environment: the topics of the programs are more extensive,covering politics,economics,art,philosophy and other aspects.The programs are disseminated on multiple platforms,with secondary dissemination based on the communication characteristics of each platform and audience habits;the hosts of the programs are mostly representatives of various fields and have a good fan base.In this context,the innovation of the program model inevitably has a certain impact on the discourse strategy of the hosts.Therefore,this paper will study the discourse strategies of online talk show hosts.Considering how to better use the discourse strategy can not only improve the host’s business ability to a certain extent,but also has some significance to the new model of the program and the new mode of communication.In this paper,I use the case study method and content analysis method to select the online interview program "Thirteen Invitations" for a case study and conduct an in-depth analysis of its discourse content.Taking Xu Zhiyuan,the host of the program,as the object of study,the text of Xu Zhiyuan’s conversation with the guests is used as the source of the corpus,and through analyzing his discourse perspective,discourse presentation,discourse role,and discourse content,I find out where the crux of his discourse lies and provide appropriate solutions and suggestions for the use of discourse strategies by the host of the online interview program.Through the analysis of the host-Xu Zhiyuan’s discourse strategy in the online interview program"Thirteen Invitations",the following findings were made: in terms of discourse,he placed every thought and question in his own social experience and social coordinates,and asked questions with "prejudice" and"stereotypes";in terms of discourse presentation,he presented the audio language more appropriate to the context,and did not shy away from presenting the embarrassment and conflict arising from the interview process,showing the audience the conflict between the views of two people in all aspects;in terms of discourse role,he broke through the previous host’s inherent role,more often from the questioner to the answerer,to achieve the host "guest”,and no longer summarized each topic step by step;in terms of discourse content,more relatively written expressions are used to distinguish his discourse content from other hosts.However,in general,there are some problems with their discourse strategy that need to be solved.In terms of expression tendency,there is too much subjective consciousness attached to the expression;in the construction of the conversation field,the hosts’ conversation field is not well created;in terms of information transmission,there is a certain knowledge gap with the guests and audience,and the discourse rhythm control is still uncoordinated.These problems affect the quality of program content and the effectiveness of program communication.Therefore,through the analysis of "Thirteen Invitation" discourse strategy characteristics and discourse cruxes,I aim to provide strategies to improve the discourse ability of online interview program hosts.First of all,in terms of the host’s discourse ability,he or she should master the discourse,follow the principle of politeness,ask questions rationally and objectively,dominate the rhythm of discourse,regulate the expression of discourse,and improve the quality of conversation.Secondly,in terms of the host’s value literacy,he or she should promote positive energy,convey the goodness and beauty,not only improve the internal literacy,but also do a good job as a "sounding board",giving voice to the mainstream values and the main theme of the times.Finally,in the external media environment,it is necessary to should strengthen the regulation and supervision of the host industry environment,regulate "entry requirements" for the hosts,strengthen the host’s sense of self-discipline,and build a multiple supervision mechanism of "state-society-the mass".
