| In the Song Dynasty, there are many monks who are famous for playing guqin, among which Qin monk Shi Zequan was the representative. The uniqueness of Shi Zequan lies in the fact that he left behind for later generations a work on qin studies called "The Rhythm and Fingering Techniques of Monk Zequan",which was an important qin study material worth learning and researching at that time and now.At present, there has been relatively extensive research on Shi Zequan and his works on qin,but there has been no thematic research on their related issues. Therefore, this article will explore the relevant issues of Shi Zequan and his works on qin studies,in order to further understand the style of qin studies in Shi Zequan. The issues discussed in this article mainly focus on the following three aspects: Shi Zequan and his works on qin,Shi Zequan’s thought about qin,and the group of qin people to which Shi Zequan belongs.Through a comprehensive analysis of the life stories of Shi Zequan and his related personnel,as well as the content of "The Rhythm and Fingering of the Monk",the author concludes that: 1.The life time of Shi Zequan should be between Emperor Taizong of Song Dynasty and Emperor Zhenzong of Song Dynasty and the fifth year of Qing Calendar(1045).2.The possibility of Shi Zequan learning the qin in the Shi Zun style(Zhibai)is relatively small,The possibility of imparting it to Shi Ruoshui is relatively small.3.The completion date of "The Rhythmic Fingering Technique of Ze Quan Monk" should be from the late Northern Song Dynasty(after 1088)to the early Southern Song Dynasty.4.The fingering spectrum of "The Rhythmic Fingering Technique of Ze Quan Monk" shows the characteristics of following the ancients and simplifying, and the use of fingering techniques presents the characteristics of hardness and softness, and continuous extension. The rhythm of the melody presents a stable and fluctuating characteristic.5.The qin thought of Shi Zequan mainly focuses on the three aesthetic categories of "middle way","rhyme" and "ancient meaning".Meanwhile, the three aesthetic propositions put forward by Shi are "not urgent or slow, its sound is in the middle","take the meaning of the rhyme of the sound, cannot be made complete" and "ancient meaning".The three influences of qin music are "enhancing the zen of the guqin","advancing the charm of the guqin" and "maintaining the authenticity of the guqin".6.The Shi Zequan should belong to the "monk qin" group of the Song Dynasty.By exploring the relevant issues of Shi Zequan and his works on qin,we will focus more on Shi Zequan’s life time and the completion date of the book "Zhequan Monk Rhythm Fingering".We will clarify Shi Zequan’s teacher-student relationship and the group of qin players he belongs to,and analyze Shi Zequan’s qin thought and the connotation of the fingering rhythm in "Zhequan Monk Rhythm Fingering" more deeply.Provide some directions for scholars to study the Qin style of Shi Zequan, the Qin style of Song Dynasty Qin monks, the characteristics of Song Dynasty ancient Qin fingering, and the contribution of Song Dynasty Qin monks to Qin studies. |
