| The“Heart(Xin),Consciousness-Will,Body,Material”(“心、意、身、物”)that described by Wang Yangming as one integral whole,which is the structure of human life,is the basis of“Benevolence of all things in one”(“万物一体之仁”).In other words,the natural state of human life,that is the“Benevolence of all things in one”(“万物一体之仁”).Just only that we often fall into dust and dirt by misapplying of free will,then make ourselves cannot show“Benevolence of all things in one”(“万物一体之仁”)in our lives.From this point of view,“Heart(Xin),consciousness-will,body,material”(“心、意、身、物”)is also the basis of“To the Conscience”(“致良知”).The effectiveness of“To the Conscience”(“致良知”)is rooted in the“Consciousness-Will”(“意”)which with ability of free will.“Consciousness-Will”(“意”),it embodies the subjective initiative and free will of people truthfully.That is to say,in the integrated“Heart(Xin),Consciousness-Will,Body,Material”(“心、意、身、物”),“Consciousness-Will”(“意”)will be the key to determine how life be.Once“Consciousness-Will”(“意”)is the“Consciousness-Will”(“意”)that have returned to“Conscience”(“良知”),the occurrence of“Benevolence of all things in one”(“万物一体之仁”)will naturally become simple and easy.“To Conscience”(“致良知”)means“Consciousness-Will”(“意”)’s self-clarification and getting back to genuine emotion.From this point of view,this paper attempts to verify that the“Knowledge and Action Are One”(“知行合一”)said by Wang Yangming,is neither“onto”nor“truth”(which should be watched eternally).It is just an technique and strategy on Wang Yangming’s hermeneutics,which temporarily used to express the“Benevolence of all things in one”(“万物一体之仁”)—in other words,express the original state of life.Knowledge and action are naturally one in one’s life,but in the origin no need to speak it out.It is just one tip of the tip of the iceberg in our lives.Only when we don’t regard this sentence as“truth”,we can understand the true meaning expressed by Wang Yangming.“Seeking‘truth’from one‘outside’delusion”that is Wang Yangming wanted to oppose;If we want to look at“Knowledge and Action Are One”in this way,we will greatly deviate from the original intention of Wang Yangming’s saying,and falling into self-deception at the same time.“To Conscience”(“致良知”)is the key for people to rediscover the natural state of life—as the“Benevolence of all things in one”(“万物一体之仁”).As a path of self-cultivation,it aims at not a literal“conscience”,but“Benevolence of all things in one”(“万物一体之仁”).Therefore,it is necessary to explain“learn from the basics and ascend to the higher”(“下学上达”,a sentence about self-cultivation said by Confucius)in Wang Yangming’s way.Based on Wang Yangming’s context of“learn from the basics and ascend to the higher”(“下学上达”),to study his“To Conscience”(“致良知”),we will come to these conclusions:people should have not bias of“basic area”(“下学”);“To Conscience”(“致良知”)also included to“basic area”(“下学”);“To conscience”(“致良知”)does not go away from“Tao has no shape”(“道无方体”),and will not“cling to creed”(“执一”). |
