The Wei Jin supernatural novels have a wide range of content, including myths and legends, geographical relics, supernatural phenomena, and many other aspects. The paper studies the Wei Jin supernatural novels from an ecological perspective, analyzing them from three levels: social ecology, spiritual ecology, and natural ecology,in order to deeply explore the ecological content and awareness in the Wei Jin supernatural novels. The main body of the article is divided into four chapters:The first chapter mainly studies the criticism of ecological imbalance in Wei Jin supernatural novels.During the Wei and Jin dynasties, there were various types of natural disasters that occurred frequently, had a wide range of impacts, and lasted for a long time. They had a very adverse impact on the natural environment, leading to an imbalance in natural ecology; In society, the ownership of power under the rule of aristocratic families is extremely imbalanced, with a lack of moral and ethical values from top to bottom, and a lack of unified value standards, which leads to the alienation of interpersonal relationships and leads to an imbalance in social ecology; The social chaos during the Wei and Jin dynasties made it impossible to guarantee people’s safety, resulting in a serious panic of natural life.Naturally,it was not possible to pursue spiritual prosperity on the basis of preserving life.In addition, various folk religious forces emerged one after another during the Wei and Jin dynasties, which easily led to confusion in people’s spiritual beliefs and ultimately led to an imbalance in the spiritual ecology. The second chapter mainly studies the construction of an ideal ecology in the Wei Jin supernatural novels. There is a criticism of ecological imbalance in Wei Jin supernatural novels, which is based on the reconstruction of the ideal ecology. In response to the natural ecological imbalance caused by natural disasters,on the one hand, the novel actively carries out disaster relief and reduction, and on the other hand, constructs a beautiful ecological harmonious home through sacred mountains and water bodies. In response to the alienation of relationships and the imbalance of social ecology caused by moral deficiency, the novel strongly emphasizes the importance of "virtue",reconstructs the value of morality in the form of rewarding virtuous individuals, and establishes an ideal social ecology centered on "virtue".In response to the panic of human natural life and confusion of beliefs during the Wei and Jin dynasties, the novel extends human lifespan and establishes a belief in immortality and Taoism in supernatural stories to achieve a balance of spiritual ecology. The third chapter mainly studies the subject of gods and monsters in Wei Jin supernatural novels.Human is the absolute subject in ecological research, but it should be noted that the description of "gods and monsters " is a prominent feature of supernatural novels, with significant " humanoid " characteristics. Therefore,it is necessary to extend the ecological subject to gods and monsters. The animal subject has a prominent "human nature" and is also the subject with the closest connection to humans. In terms of image, there is a combination of humans and animals, while in terms of emotion,it is no different from humans. The story of gods and ghosts is a projection of human society, which plays an important supplementary role in exploring the social ecology in Wei Jin supernatural novels. The construction method of the subject of gods and monsters is imagination and hallucination.Imagination is the main construction method of the ecological manifestation of the subject of gods and monsters in Wei Jin supernatural novels, and hallucination is an important way for gods and monsters to obtain the subject status in Wei Jin supernatural novels. The fourth chapter mainly studies the ecological narrative in the Wei Jin supernatural novels. The "intention driven" narrative style, mainly based on prophecy and propaganda,is mainly manifested in prophecy and karma stories in Wei Jin supernatural novels, with the aim of constructing an ecosystem that advocates morality and goodness.Using a limited perspective to narrate can enable the narrative perspective to switch back and forth between different subjects, better expressing the thoughts and attitudes of different subjects, especially from the perspective of non human subjects, which has the meaning of ecological equality. The narrative attitude centered on human needs is utilitarian and human driven, but in turn,it also affirms the important value of non human existence and demonstrates human dependence on natural things.
