Grit is a positive psychological quality that transcends intellectual factors and has an important impact on individual achievement and performance. As a key link in the process of students’ growth, junior high school students’ study is the core task of junior high school students.Cultivating their positive academic grit is of great significance to their academic and psychological development. However, through sorting out the existing studies,it is found that the research on the structure of academic grit and its related scales is still relatively lacking in the context of Chinese culture, and few studies are devoted to the study of the impact of academic grit on other academic or learning variables of individuals in the academic field.Learning satisfaction,as one of the main criteria to measure students’ learning quality,is of great significance to improve academic performance and future development.According to the character strengths theory and the flow theory, when individuals have a high level of grit in a certain field, they will be more inclined to participate in activities in that field, and improve their skills through continuous practice,so as to achieve the balance between external challenges and their own skills, which will enable them to generate more flow experience in future activities,The increase in the frequency of flow experience will further improve the satisfaction of individuals in this activity. In view of this, this study took junior high school students in China as the research object, and carried out three studies successively: Study 1,according to the standard questionnaire preparation process, compiled the " Junior High School Student Academic Grit Scale".The second study explored the current situation of academic grit of junior high school students and the differences in the three demographic variables of gender, grade and residence. The third study explored the relationship between academic grit, learning flow experience and learning satisfaction of junior high school students and the status quo of their internal path mechanism. And according to different groups, put forward educational suggestions to improve the academic grit of junior high school students. Finally, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The academic grit of junior high school students includes three dimensions:academic persistence, academic effort and academic seriousness. The 15-item“Academic grit scale for junior high school students has good reliability and validity, and is an effective tool to measure the academic grit of junior high school students.(2)The overall status of academic grit of junior high school students is good. There are no significant differences in gender and residence, but there are significant differences in different grades.Specifically, the academic grit, academic persistence and academic seriousness of the first grade students are significantly higher than those of the third grade students, and the academic seriousness of the second grade students is significantly higher than that of the third grade students..(3)There is a significant positive correlation among academic grit, learning flow experience and learning satisfaction of junior high school students.(4)Junior high school students’ academic grit has a significant positive impact on learning satisfaction, and learning flow experience plays a significant intermediary role in this process.
