Design Application Of Shanxi Tiger Elements In Tourism And Cultural Product

As a representative craft of traditional folk culture,cloth tigers in Shanxi province comes from the worship of the tiger,which are used by folk people as a symbol to ward off evil spirits,health and peace.The most common way to make a cloth tiger is to sew a basic outline out of cotton and satin,stuff it with cotton and grain,and then use embroidery,collage and painting on the surface to depict the body parts and facial features.The overall shape of the cloth tiger is exaggerated through distortion,resulting in a large head and small body and limbs.They are widely used as festive toys,children’s mascots and new wedding dowries.Social development has made the province of Shanxi begin to transform and focus on the development of tourism.The cloth tiger as an important expression in Shanxi tourism cultural and creative products is conducive to showing the unique regional nature of tourism cultural and creative products.This design explores the entry point of the cloth tiger shape from Shanxi province and combines it with famous tourist attractions around Shanxi province.Through the use of field research method,the questionnaire survey results and the collection of Shanxi cloth tiger elements to organize and summarize;while using the literature research analysis method to analyze the relevant books,literature and news reports so on;combined with the case study research method to find the appropriate design creation direction and expression form;through the use of element reorganization,illustration design,layout design and other design methods,at the same time,completed the cloth tiger head shape in Shanxi and the design of the national trend illustration related to the twenty-four solar terms finally.They will be extracted and applied in the tourism cultural and creative products to realize the integration of traditional culture and modern design.The project hopes to achieve the effect of promoting the traditional cloth tiger culture in Shanxi province and enhancing the value of tourism cultural and creative products,so that the cloth tiger still has a place in the modern market development.
