As times progress,the social responsibility undertaken by Y Provincial Power Company,as a mega state-owned enterprise,is crucial to maintaining social stability and promoting economic development.However,as the essential goal of the company is to maximise profits,Y Provincial Power Company lacks a conscious awareness of its social responsibility.Therefore,the government should actively promote and guide the development of social responsibility in order to promote the sustainable development of the enterprise.As our government continues to issue a number of policies and regulations and establish rules and regulations,Y provincial power company has achieved remarkable results in fulfilling its social responsibility,however,there is still a large gap compared to the expected target.This paper summarises the important role of the government in supporting,guiding,monitoring and coordinating social responsibility through an analysis of relevant domestic and international literature.The aim of this paper is to explore the challenges faced by the government in the process of fulfilling its social responsibility and to propose targeted strategies to address them through a study of Y Province Electricity Company.To this end,this paper firstly provides an in-depth exposition of the basic concepts and theoretical foundations of the study,and conducts a detailed analysis of the current situation of the government’s role in the fulfillment of social responsibility in State Grid Shandong Province’s electric power enterprises,establishes a comprehensive evaluation system of the government’s role in the fulfillment of social responsibility,and conducts a comprehensive assessment of the government’s role in the fulfillment of social responsibility by means of a questionnaire survey,with a view to providing a The study was conducted by a research team from Y Province Power Company.Through the research of Y Province Electric Power Company,the current situation of the government’s role play in this company is analysed in depth,and the problems and their causes are discussed in conjunction with relevant basic theories,and strategies to improve the government’s performance of its responsibilities in this company are finally proposed in order to achieve better results.The study shows that State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company has made remarkable achievements in fulfilling its social responsibilities,including: actively complying with legal regulations,courageously assuming social responsibilities to promote economic development and actively participating in social charity activities;in addition,through the analysis of questionnaire survey data,the government has also played an important role,including the initial appearance of its guiding role,the initial effectiveness of its coordinating role and the initial establishment of its supervisory role.However,there are still some problems,such as the coordinating role needs to be improved,the guiding role needs to be strengthened,and the supervising role is not effective enough.The lack of strong institutional support and effective regulation has led to the government’s poor performance in fulfilling its social responsibilities.In order to improve this situation,we suggest improving the government’s social responsibility fulfilment mechanism,incentivising state-owned enterprises to fulfil their social responsibility and strengthening the supervision of the government.
