| National English Curriculum Standards for General High Schools(2017 Revision2020)points out that the characteristics of senior high school English curriculum are the integration of instrumental and humanistic features.Instrumental features means that students can use language to communicate smoothly,humanistic features means that through language learning,students can understand the connotation of language,shape healthy personality,improve their self-cultivation and achieve harmonious development of body and mind.For a long time,English teaching in middle schools has only paid attention to the learning of students’ language knowledge and the training of their language skills,while ignoring the cultivation of students’ internal qualities.In a word,it only emphasizes the instrumentality of language while ignoring its humanity,and only pays attention to teaching and neglecting educating people.This will inevitably have a negative impact.This thesis aims to explore the existing problems and influencing factors of humanistic education in senior high school English teaching.In order to find out the present situation of humanistic education in senior high school English teaching,the author adopts the research method of questionnaire and interview to investigate it from multiple levels,taking some students and teachers of Tongliao No.5 Senior High School,Tongliao No.1 Middle School and Tongliao Experimental Middle School as the research objects,and tries to explore the following questions.(1)What are the problems and influencing factors of humanistic education in senior high school English teaching in Tongliao?(2)How to effectively strengthen students’ humanistic education in senior high school English teaching? The survey shows that the present situation of humanistic education in senior high school English teaching is not satisfactory.The possible factors that influence the present situation are English teachers’ weak humanistic education concept,insufficient exploration of humanistic connotation in English textbooks,relatively backward English teaching methods,single English learning assessment system and lack of humanistic quality assessment,the formalization of English extracurricular activities and so on.Finally,based on the above research results,the author puts forward some suggestions,hoping to provide some references for improving the present situation of humanistic education in senior high school English teaching. |
