| "85 Art Movement" is an important art movement in the 1980 s when China’s art field changed from single to multiple.At the same time,with the opening up to the outside world,the relatively avant-garde western modern art art forms and art trends continue to flood into China,mature and diversified western modern art is bound to radiate to China.In the process of impact and reference,art forms rich in Chinese connotation are gradually emerging on the basis of Chinese traditional art.The wave of "85 New Art Trend" has brought Chinese young artists into a new scene.Comprehensive material art started from "85 New Art Trend" and began to deeply influence Chinese artists,giving new inspiration in creation and thinking,and reigniting their enthusiasm for art practice.Looking at the traditional and modern,the rich and unique cultural,historical,natural,religious,political and other environmental factors contained in the local culture of China have spawned new forms of expression and unique charm in the integrated material art.Therefore,under the specific cultural environment,integrated material art is destined to develop along with the Chinese native spirit and tradition towards metaphor and symbol.While the value and meaning conveyed by art function through the identity transformation of material media,the new understanding of material media promotes many aspects,especially the diversification and integration of Chinese contemporary art.This paper attempts to interpret the expansion and innovation of the art of integrated materials by artists using eastern experience.Comprehensive materials have their own physical properties in art works,which are conveyed and displayed together with artists’ personal thoughts,feelings and concepts.In other words,they respect the aesthetic value of material materials and achieve common sublimation with artists’ concepts.Six representative artists,Cai Guoqiang,Gu Liming,Shang Yang,Xu Jiang,Gu Wenda and Xu Bing,were selected.These artists dabble in ink and wash,installation,easel painting,concept art and other art fields,and explore more forms of expression of materials in the context of the fusion of traditional and Western art concepts.They try to reflect on and interpret the understanding of social humanity,history,national culture and ecology of the nation and even the globalization from the perspective of comprehensive materials.And capture and infuse their own experience,emotion,feeling into the material art to open up a new world.While pursuing all the essence of material,relying on the way of conveying emotion through comprehensive materials,the expression of ambition based on traditional objects reflects the artist’s extraordinary creativity and new grasp of materials.Centering on the performance of comprehensive materials in the 85 new trend period,the cross combing of comprehensive materials and "85 new art trend" is carried out with its characteristics.Taking "trace","state" and "copy" characteristics as examples,the case of specific artists is analyzed.According to "85 New Art Trend",how artists in the creation of material from the physical properties of the material itself to the spiritual expression of the material.The paper interprets and summarizes the expression techniques of different artists,how comprehensive materials intervene in art as artistic media and carrier,the connotation of materials in works and the extension form of artists’ thoughts,so as to sum up the performance characteristics of comprehensive materials in the "85 new Art Trend" period. |
