A Study On The Relationship Between The Trend Of Character Appreciation And Lliterary Activities In The Late Han And The Six Dynasties

This article mainly studies the relationship between the trend of character appreciation and literary activities in the late Han Dynasty and the Six Dynasties.This research starts from the character appreciation.Combining a large number of historical documents and the research results of predecessors,it divides the trend into three major development stages of the late Han Dynasty,the Wei and Jin Dynasties,and the Southern Dynasty.Through the analysis and discussion of specific and typical character appreciation activities and leaders,the overall style of appraisal trend is presented.Among them,Taixue Qingyi,Yuedan Commentary,and Xiang Yi are the most typical,all of which have moralized standards of appreciation.Political utilitarianism is its essential attribute.The character appreciation of Wei and Jin Dynasties still maintained a political style,However,with the diversification of standards and the influence of Xuanfeng in the Wei and Jin Dynasties,Fengshen appreciation became the mainstream at that time.In the Southern Dynasty,with the collapse of the Jin Dynasty and the disappearance of celebrities,the trend of tasting declined.Shi Shuo Xin Yu,a masterpiece of character appreciation,was born in this frustration and loss.After summarizing the trend of character appreciation,it enters the core research link of this thesis.This link analyzes and explores the relationship between the trend of character appreciation and literary activities from the two levels of literary creation activities and literary criticism activities.As far as literary creation is concerned,it has an interactive relationship with the trend of character appreciation from the outside to the inside.In the field of literary creation,we can find a large number of literary works with the direct content and purpose of appreciating characters.The existence of this intuitive and specific literary works of character appreciation is the result of the shallow interaction between the trend of character appreciation and literary creation activities,highlighting their interactive relationship.At the same time,in the long-term integration of the trend of character appreciation and literary creation activities,the trend with its strong influence has effectively promoted the emergence of various new changes in literary creation and had a more far-reaching impact on literary activities.This influence is mainly reflected in the consciousness of landscape aesthetic consciousness and the formation of the slender creative tendency in literary creation.Based on the prosperity of landscape in the trend of character appreciation,scholars have accumulated a large number of aesthetic practical experience of mountains and rivers.This experience is internalized in the hearts of scholars,externalized again through literary creation,and finally laid the foundation for the formation of landscape poetry with landscape as an independent aesthetic object.The trend of character appreciation in the Wei and Jin Dynasties especially worshipped appearance.The feminine tendency of the aesthetic appearance had a great impact on the main group of literary creation at that time-the gentry.The gentry’s psychology is slender and exquisite.Indirectly,the feminine tendency promoted the formation of slender creative tendency in the Six Dynasties.The trend of character appreciation not only has an interactive relationship with literary creation activities,but also has a far-reaching impact on literary criticism activities.First of all,the prosperity of the appreciation atmosphere has effectively promoted the appreciation of literary works.The prevalence of literary appreciation activities has further promoted the embellishment of literary works and the theorization and specialization of literary criticism.Secondly,scholars awakened in the process of recognizing themselves through character appreciation.The awakening of scholars led to a fundamental turn in political and educational literary criticism since the PreQin and Han Dynasties.Literary criticism theory began to pay more attention to the characteristics and laws of literature itself.Finally,the concepts of talent,divinity,rank and title in the trend of character appreciation are also used for reference by literary criticism theories.These extremely successful references further strengthened the tendency of emphasizing the overall style and intuitive feeling,as well as the characteristics of simplification,conciseness and polysemy in ancient Chinese literary criticism theory.
