Analysis On Political Discourse Of The Modi Government

The application of political discourse is one of the essential elements for political parties and individuals at home and abroad to participate in political life.How to use political discourse and what kind of political discourse should be produced are even more crucial for the government at the center of state power.The excellent application of political discourse can be complementary to government behavior,improving the public’s recognition of government behavior,so as to make the government behavior proceed smoothly.On the contrary,the improper use of political discourse may deepen the gap between the government and the public,and ultimately affect the credibility of the government as well as people’s support for the government.After years of development,the Bharatiya Janata Party re-entered the center of Indian political power in 2014,forming the Modi government with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the core.In order to consolidate and expand its voter coverage,the Modi government continues to mobilize the masses after winning the election,and mass mobilization seems to have become normalized.In this process,political discourse,as a tool of communication between the government and the Indian people,becomes one of the significant tools for the Modi government to call upon the public.On the basis of grasping the overall outline of the political discourse of the Modi government,and with the help of the case analysis method,two new policies promulgated by the Modi government.namely,the Demonetization and the Agriculture Reform Laws,are selected to make a case study macroscopically and microscopically in this paper.The full text is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly expounds the definition of political discourse and the research status of Demonetization,Agriculture Reform Laws and the political discourse of Modi government.and introduces the topic’s background,significance,train of thought,and methods adopted.The second part seizes the background and propaganda system of Modi government’s political discourse macroscopically,which lays a foundation for the following micro-analysis.The third part explores the political discourse of Modi government from the aspect of discourse application strategy.The fourth part primarily uses the corpus analysis software to make a quantitative analysis of the political discourse of Modi government after the promulgation of Demonetization and Agriculture Reform Laws.The fifth part studies the social effects of Modi government’s political discourse after the promulgation of Demonetization and Agriculture Reform Laws through investigation reports,network comments and other channels.The sixth part is the conclusion,which makes a summary and points out the shortcomings of this paper,as well as the problems to be further studied.
