A Comparative Study Of Zhang Ailing And Marguerite Duras’ Novel

Zhang Ailing is a woman writer with great achievements in the history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature,and Duras is the winner of goncourt Prize,one of the highest literary prizes in France.Is also live in the 20 th century women,also have lack of childhood and bumpy life experience,also has more than half a century of experience,also like romance in his works,the two great writers both have the same view point on creation,also has the unique differences.This paper adopts the comparative method of "parallel study",centering on the two writers’ representative novels--The Golden Lock and The Lover,and carries out a comparative study from four aspects of theme,characters,language and narration respectively.The first chapter compares the themes of the two writers’ novels from the whole point of view.As female writers in the 20 th century,Zhang Ailing and Duras both pay attention to women and consciously create female literature.They are concerned about women’s living conditions and fate in their works,striving to change the male-centered discourse power in the history of literature for a long time,and promoting female literature from the edge to the center.The two writers also love the theme of love,and they share similar rough experiences.Love in their works is always interwoven with desire and despair.The second chapter focuses on the comparative study of the characters in the Golden Lock and the Lover.Compared with the characters in the novel,the traditionally selfless mother is "alienated" into the spokesperson of selfishness and bigotry,while the important role of father in the family is weakened and diminished,which is largely related to their similar life experience and family background.The third chapter starts with the language of the novels and compares the poetic color of the language in the novels of the two writers.The language of their novels is full of rhythm and emotion.The use of sound,color and other elements adds to the pictorial sense of the words,while the use of unique images endows the language with profound connotations.The fourth chapter from the Golden Lock and the Lover narrative,from narrative time,narrative perspective,narrative structure three aspects to compare Zhang Ailing and Duras novel narrative skill,although both on the narration showed the differences of eastern and western novel writing techniques,but in breaking the narrative time,conversion,narrative perspective and open structure,also appeared a lot in common.Zhang Ailing and Duras have no intersection in their lives,but they share significant similarities in themes,characters,language and narration.Both of them show women’s resistance and rebellion against male power,and they use poetic language and unique narrative mode to describe love full of despair and desire.The multi-dimensional comparison of the two female writers is actually a further study of their creative characteristics and aesthetic styles from a global perspective.
