Study On The Struggle Against Bandits In Guizhou During The Early Period Of The Founding Of New China

At the beginning of the founding of New China,when the Kuomintang government collapsed and the new regime was not yet fully established,the bureaucratic bourgeoisie led by Chiang Kai-shek planned a series of counterattacks before the regime was fully established.They did not want to be overthrown and wanted to regain power,so during this period,various banditry riots of various sizes took place,which were completely different from the previous banditry.During this period,the bandits were so political in nature that they not only disrupted the local security and economy,but also posed a direct threat to the local party and military.Guizhou was located in the southwest,with closed transportation,dense mountains and gullies,and banditry was always rampant.Therefore,the fight against bandits was a prerequisite for Guizhou’s social stability and economic development,as well as the promotion and completion of the democratic revolution and the development of the socialist revolution and cause.Only by giving full play to the monolithic leadership of the Party,the government and the army,and by actively mobilizing the people to participate in the heroic struggle,could the bandits in Guizhou be completely eliminated.At this point,the bandits,who posed a threat to modern China,were finally eliminated completely by the CCP and the people’s armed forces.However,at the early stage of bandit eradication,the CCP and the newly established People’s Government did not have a comprehensive and accurate understanding of the nature of the bandits in Guizhou,which made the work of bandit eradication difficult and encountered a series of setbacks,causing some unnecessary suffering and losses.During the struggle against bandits in Guizhou,problems were gradually discovered and recognized,and the methods of combat were promptly changed.At the same time,the Party and the People’s Government duly learned from previous experiences and lessons and duly adjusted the policy of bandit eradication,so that the work of bandit eradication in Guizhou was successfully completed and favorable conditions were created for the subsequent work of socialist revolution and construction.
