| Nanning is the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and is located in the south of Guangxi.Wutang Town is located in the northeast of Xingning District,Nanning.Wutang Town is rich in language resources,with the presence of not only Zhuang and Ping dialects,but also Cantonese subdialects and Hakka dialects.The Hakka dialect in Wutang Town belongs to the nature of dialect island,which was first moved from Shaoguan,Guangdong to Xinqiao,Binyang during the early Qing Dynasty,and then to Liantangpo in Siping Village in Wutang Town for more than a hundred years.The Wutang Hakka dialect is surrounded by strong local dialects such as Ping and Bai,and presents phonetic characteristics that are different from other Hakka dialects.This paper takes the island phonology of the Wutang Hakka dialect as the object of study,and provides a systematic description of the Wutang Hakka dialect,comparing it with the Middle Archaic phonology over time,and then comparing it with the Meixian and Bingyang Xinqiao Hakka dialects over time,summarizing the similarities and differences,and then exploring the variation characteristics that arise during the contact between the Wutang Hakka dialect phonology and dialects such as Ping and Bai.This paper consists of six chapters:The first chapter is an introduction,which introduces the current state of research on the phonology of Hakka in Guangxi,the general situation of Wutang in Nanning and the current state of research on the Wutang dialect,while defining the island of Wutang Hakka dialect,the significance of this paper,the research methodology and the sources of materials.The second chapter describes the phonology of the Wutang Hakka dialect in Nanning,introducing both the linguistic system of Wutang Hakka and sorting out the relationship between the vocal-rhyme-tonal coordination of Wutang Hakka,as well as analysing the internal differences of Wutang Hakka and collating the homophone vocabulary of Wutang Hakka.The third chapter uses the historical comparison method to compare Wutang Hakka with the Middle Ages,and thus summarises the characteristics of Wutang Hakka vocal tones.The fourth chapter compares the Wutang Hakka dialect with the Bingyang Xinqiao and Meixian Hakka dialects in a coeval manner,analysing the similarities and differences between the three.The fifth chapter compares Wutang Hakka dialect with Wutang Ping dialect,summarising the common features between them and analysing the phonetic contact variation.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,which concludes the whole text.This paper attempts to explore the evolution of different dialects in the process of contact and integration from the perspective of language contact and language comparison,to investigate the phonological situation of Nanning Wutang Hakka dialect island,to understand its phonological overview,and on this basis,to clarify the relationship between the dialect island,the source local language and the surrounding dialects,and to fill the research gap of Guangxi Nanning Wutang Hakka dialect. |
