Curriculum Ideological and Political Education is a new requirement of the Party and the country for education in the New Era,and it is also a key course to implement the fundamental task of establishing moral education.Based on this background,the new round of curriculum reform also points out that English teaching in high school should fully implement the fundamental task of establishing moral education,cultivate socialist core values,promote excellent Chinese culture,fully reflect the unity of the English curriculum’s instrumental and humanistic nature,develop students’ core English subject literacy such as language ability,cultural awareness,thinking quality and learning ability,fully reflect the special nurturing value of the English subject,and cultivate socialist builders and successors with Chinese sentiment,international vision and cross-cultural communication skills.Thus,it is very necessary and feasible to integrate Chinese cultural ideological and political elements in high school English teaching.Based on the infiltration theory,cross-cultural communication theory,and input and output hypothesis as the theoretical basis,this paper focuses on the integration of Chinese cultural ideological and political elements into high school English teaching as the main research content,and mainly discusses the following three issues.(1)What’s the current status of the integration of Chinese cultural ideological and political elements into high school English teaching?(2)What is the current level of high school students’ expression of Chinese culture in English?(3)What is the influence of the integration of Chinese cultural ideological and political elements into high school English classroom on high school students’ English language ability? What are the specific aspects?In this study,100 students and 16 English teachers from the senior one class of a key high school in Fuzhou City,Jiangxi Province,participated in the study.Among them,Class 29 was the experimental class,which integrated Chinese cultural ideological and political elements into the daily English teaching,and Class 2 was the control class,which still followed the traditional teaching method.On the basis of previous research on the integration of Chinese culture into English teaching,this study collected and analyzed the integration of ideological and political elements of Chinese culture into high school English language teaching and students’ ability to express Chinese culture in English through questionnaires,interviews and cultural tests.Second,during the 4-month practical teaching activities,the author conducted several experiments on integrating elements of Chinese cultural thought and politics into high school English teaching.The above data were analyzed by SPSS22.0 software,and relevant conclusions were drawn: The analysis of questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students showed that the ideological and political elements of Chinese culture are not adequately integrated in high school English classrooms.By analyzing the test results of high school students’ Chinese cultural English expression ability,it is found that students’ ability to express Chinese culture in English was relatively poor.The experiment and the students’ interviews conducted after the experiment revealed that integrating Chinese cultural ideological and political elements in high school English teaching had a positive impact on students’ English reading comprehension and writing and oral expression skills.Through the above experimental practice,this study provides ideas and methods for further integration of Chinese cultural ideological and political elements into high school English teaching.
