| In recent years,more and more attention is paid to the Curriculum Ideological and Political Education.As one measure of the construction of Curriculum Ideological and Political Education in English course,integrating Chinese culture into English teaching has become a focus.However,research that studies the introduction of Chinese culture into English teaching from the perspective of Curriculum Ideological and Political Education are not widely studied.In view of this,this research studies the introduction of Chinese culture into senior high school English teaching from the perspective of Curriculum Ideological and Political Education.The research attempts to answer three questions as follows:(1)What is the status quo about the introduction of Chinese culture into senior high school English teaching?(2)How do high school English teachers integrate Chinese culture into English classes to promote the construction of Curriculum Ideological and Political Education in English course?(3)Is Chinese cultural knowledge integrated into current English examination paper in senior high school in proper ways? What are the inadequacies?Two questionnaires were designed for surveying and 16 excellent English classes on the platform of One Teacher and one Excellent Class were selected for observation.In addition,nine examination papers were collected for analysis.The data were collected and statistically analyzed by Excel 2003 and SPSS 23.0.This study draws the following conclusions:(1)The importance of introducing Chinese culture into English teaching is well recognized by both teachers and students.They do not think highly of the content and the proportion of Chinese culture in the current textbooks.Most teachers introduce Chinese culture into English classes in appropriate ways,and the teaching effect is satisfactory,but there are still some negative factors,which influence the teachers’ implementation of Chinese culture teaching.(2)Teachers often use class exercises and homework assignments and multimedia to integrate Chinese culture into their teaching,and often teach Chinese culture to students in the phase of introducing new lessons.(3)Chinese culture is properly integrated into the English examination paper,which covers a wide range of topics,but the proportion of Chinese culture in the test paper is relatively small.This research has certain theoretical and practical value.It can complement the current research on the Curriculum Ideological and Political Education in English Course and on the introduction of Chinese culture into English teaching at home.Furthermore,it can bring enlightenment to the construction of the Curriculum Ideological and Political Education in English Course and to Chinese culture teaching in senior high schools,thus promoting the improvement of senior high school students’ ability to express Chinese culture in English and cross-cultural communicative competence. |
