4The national art exhibition is an official national exhibition of high-profile art-works in China,which involves an extremely large number of works and has a certain authority and representative in the art world.Therefore,this thesis selects works from the national art exhibition as a sample to study the use of color in contemporary landscape painting.In addition to exploring the 20 th century art exhibitions,this study analyzes the new characteristics of the use of color in landscape painting in national art exhibitions since the 21 st century,with the aim of grasping the future development trend of landscape painting and bringing new inspiration to the creators of art and literature.This study analyzes the reasons for the number of colorful landscape paintings in art exhibitions at each stage by compiling the works of landscape painting in art exhibitions and taking them into account the context of the times.From sorting out the works of each art exhibition,I found that the national art exhibition,as the official art exhibition of the country,had a certain political function.The four art exhibitions at the early stage of the establishment of New China fully reflected the characteristic of serving politics in literature and art-works.Due to the limitations of landscape painting in terms of subject matter,the number of works was very small.After the sixth art exhibition,the literary and art world began to rebound in the face of the general political environment.Literary artists were given relatively free space to create works,and some people suggested that"literature and art" should be kept at a distance from "politics".As a result,the sixth art exhibition saw some changes in the themes of the works,especially in the use of color.After the 1985 wave,the number of works of color in landscape painting in art exhibitions increased rapidly.However,as a typical representative of Chinese painting,landscape painting has borrowed a lot of colors from Western painting and used them blindly,making the spirit and connotation of landscape painting missing,which has prompted artists to reflect on the development of landscape painting.Since the new century,with the improvement of China’s comprehensive national power and the Two-Hundred policy,’ cultural self-confidence" has become the contemporary slogan of literary and artistic creation,which makes the works in national art exhibitions pay more attention to the absorption of our own culture and at the same time make new reference to the use of color in Western painting.Starting from the form of use,this thesis explores the materials and techniques of color in landscape painting,and the concept of color use,and the correct grasp of folk and traditional color concepts.In addition,the judging mechanism of the national art exhibition has been gradually improved to enhance the fairness of the works in the art exhibition and also to improve the quality and quantity of the exhibited works.This reflects that color is not only a key factor in the development of landscape painting,but also a trend in the development of landscape painting in the modernization of landscape painting.
