During the Northern Song Dynasty, the "Shang Yi" style of calligraphy prevailed.Among them, the four families of Su Shi,Huang Tingjian,Mi Fu,and Cai Xiang were famous at that time, and they were called "Song’s four families" by later generations.Huang Tingjian is the most creative of the four schools. His long spear and halberd, vertical and horizontal style of writing is unique, graceful in the dynasty, and has a great influence on future generations. His calligraphy concept of emphasizing rhyme and vulgarity and based on seal script is even more discerning and has become the object of imitation by later calligraphers. The calligraphy circle in the Qing Dynasty was prosperous and complicated, and it was a turning point in the history of calligraphy. Before the Qing Dynasty,Huang Tingjian’s calligraphy had always existed from the perspective of pedagogy, and its influence was mainly based on the calligraphy characteristics of calligraphers. From the revival of the seal script in the early Qing Dynasty to the rise of the stele school in the late Qing Dynasty,it changed the appearance of the calligraphy that dominated the calligraphy field for nearly a thousand years, and the perspective of calligraphers on Huang Tingjian’s calligraphy also changed. This paper takes the Qing Dynasty as the background and explores the specific influence of Huang Tingjian’s calligraphy in the Qing Dynasty.Based on the title and postscript of the book, the article discusses the Qing people’s attitude towards Huang Tingjian’s calligraphy from three aspects: Huang Tingjian’s calligraphy status, characteristics of calligraphy, and origin of calligraphy; To monstrate the specific influence of Huang Tingjian’s calligraphy through the analysis of his calligraphy thought and calligraphy practice, and summarize the different ways of learning Huangshu in different periods; The "new" creation concept is intrinsically linked with calligraphy in the Qing Dynasty;thus,it is suggested that calligraphy creation must "trace the origin of seal script, learn the basics" and "integrate inscriptions on inscriptions, borrow the ancient to open up the new".
