"There Is A Pen In A Character"—On The Influence Of Huang Tingjian's Cursive Calligraphy On My Creation

Huang tingjian’s cursive writing has a rich turning skill and strong writing power.he takes "pen in word" as his writing program and devotes himself to introspection and correction of his cursive writing.Huang tingjian compared "pen in words" with "eye in sentences".many words in his book theory also originated from Zen classics.therefore,we want to understand Huang tingjian’s creative ideas and need to explain them in the Zen background.Through Huang tingjian’s own book theory records on cursive writing,we can understand the disadvantages that must be avoided and the pen requirements that must be met in the process of cursive writing.Based on Huang tingjian’s three cursive works of stage significance,this paper further understands "there is a pen in a word" through the analysis of the outline of stippling,the way of connecting character groups,the design of spatial arrangement of white,etc.,and tries to integrate the characteristics of the lifting and pressing of the pen,the blending of the square in the circle,the disconnection of the meaning of strokes,the arrangement of rhymes between lines,etc.into his own cursive writing.
