The Art Deco movement became an international style in the 1920 s and 1930 s and began to influence modern Chinese design at the beginning of its development.This article first sorts out the development track and style characteristics of the Art Deco movement as a world style,and divides its development into three stages: 1910-1920,1921-1930,and 1931-1940,and analyzes its development from bud to mature style.Then to the process and stage characteristics of becoming a world style.Then analyze the artistic sources of the Art Deco movement as a world style and the influence of these sources on the development of the Art Deco movement in the Republic of China.Combined with the data to analyze the development of the Art Deco movement in the Republic of China,including the artistic field of communication and development,the stage characteristics and overall characteristics of its development,it is divided into three stages,just like its development process as a world style.However,according to the characteristics of its development in China,its development process is different from that of the world style,which is divided into three stages: introduction in some design fields from 1910 to 1925,direct reference from local designers from 1926 to 1930,and independent innovation and theoretical exploration from 1931 to 1939.On this basis,this paper summarizes the characteristics of the development of the Art Deco movement in the Republic of China,in order to restore the overall appearance of the spread and development of the Art Deco movement in the Republic of China in the 1920s and 1930s.
