Nowadays,Chinese print art is quite mature in techniques and skills, and its styles are becoming more and more diverse, which can be said that a hundred schools of thought contend.Nevertheless,in order to create prints with artistic tension and national characteristics,it is necessary to draw quintessence from national art, especially the stone reliefs, the source of local print art.By studying the stone reliefs in this paper,it is found that the artistic tension of the stone reliefs in Han Dynasty, that is,Arnheim’s "motionless",mainly comes from the theme, composition and modeling of the picture. The theme is mainly to grasp the decisive moment and the wonderful moments in the process of movement. There are two aspects in composition.First, the rational composition is used to highlight the tension of the picture, which mainly includes the following points: the composition of central divergence, the composition of divided pictures and the composition of vase effect;Secondly,in the composition, some auxiliary means that can enhance the tension of composition are added, such as the contrast of the relationship between the figure and the background, the oblique perspective of the bottom line, the increase of animation effect, the establishment of reference objects, and the use of arrows.Imagery and expansive modeling are mostly used in modeling.Based on the research results in this paper, the previous print creation has been re-recognized and adjusted. It solves the problem that the picture is too tranquility and lacks tension in the past landscape prints. On this basis, new landscape prints "Morning Song" and "Spring" were created and achieved good results. The research on stone reliefs is of guiding significance to print creation, and it is a supplement to the art of stone reliefs of Han Dynasty in the field of fine arts research.
