Learning motivation is the internal motivation to stimulate and guide students’ needs and promote students’ learning. It can directly influence and predict on students’ learning behavior and academic performance. In the stage of compulsory education, good learning motivation can make students clear their learning objectives, correct their learning attitude, stimulate their development potential, lay a good foundation for cultivating the habit of lifelong learning, and promote the sustainable development of students. However, when students’ learning motivation is insufficient, they are prone to lazy behavior and boredom, and even lead to problems such as weariness and dropping out of school.Educational anxiety is a kind of excessive worry and fear of parents for their children’s future, which will have an adverse impact on their children’s learning performance. The "double reduction" policy implemented in 2021 has alleviated parents’ educational anxiety to a certain extent. However,a survey shows that when educational organizations are unable to start classes, there are still many parents who choose to buy online subject counseling courses or share the courses previously concentrated on weekends on weekdays. Therefore,in the "post double reduction era",parents’ educational anxiety may persist. This study intends to investigate: 1.The influence of parents’ educational anxiety on learning motivation of primary and middle school students.2.The mediating effect of parental academic pressure and academic participation in the relationship between parental educational anxiety and learning motivation of primary and secondary school students.3.Primary and secondary school students’ academic performance and stage play a regulatory role in the intermediary model of parental educational anxiety affecting learning motivation through parental academic pressure and academic participation.A total of 652 primary school students and their parents’ academic anxiety scale, academic anxiety scale and academic achievement scale were used to analyze the main data of 652 primary school students and their parents’ academic Anxiety Scale:(1)At present, parents’ educational anxiety is at a medium high level. There are significant differences in academic performance, place of origin and whether their children are only children. The level of parents’ educational anxiety is higher in poor students, rural areas and non-only children;Students’ autonomous motivation is higher than control motivation and de-motivation.There are significant differences in students’ origin and school stage, and the autonomous motivation of urban areas and primary school students is higher; There are significant differences in controlling motivation in different stages, and junior middle school students have higher controlling motivation; There are significant differences in students’ origin and school stage, and the de-motivation of rural areas and junior middle school students is higher.(2)There is a significant negative correlation between parental educational anxiety and students’ autonomous motivation, and a significant positive correlation between parental educational anxiety and students’ de-motivation,it’s not associated with controlling motivation.(3)Parental educational anxiety negatively predicts students’ autonomous motivation and positively predicts students’ de-motivation.And parents’ academic pressure and academic participation play a mediating role between parents’ educational anxiety and students’ learning motivation.Specifically, parents’ educational anxiety leads to the decline of students’ autonomous motivation and the improvement of students’ demotivation by increasing parents’ academic pressure and reducing parents’ academic participation.(4)In the indirect way that parents’ educational anxiety affecting students’ motivation through parents’ academic participation, learning stage plays a regulatory role in the relationship between parents’ academic participation and students’ de-motivation.Specifically,for primary school students, the indirect effect of parental educational anxiety on motivation through parental academic participation is not significant; For junior middle school students, parental educational anxiety has a significant indirect effect on motivation through parental academic participation. |
