The concept of "School of the north" was put forward by the calligraphers and painters Dong Qichang and Mo Shilong in the late Ming Dynasty.From the theory of "Nanton Beijian" of Zen,they believe that the painting is divided into North and South schools,not divided by region.Li sixun,who is good at Green hook painting in the Tang Dynasty,is listed as the ancestor of " School of the north ",and whether "color" and "hook" are the painting criteria.Then Chen Jiru and Shen Hao further discussed it.They listed the “School of the north”as an expert painting.They believed that its painting style was "extremely steep and impetuous".They also said that "the Li school is thin and has no morale".After that,the “School of the north”was depressed.Until the period of the Republic of China,with the vigorous advocacy and practice of Jincheng and Chen shaomei,“School of the north” landscape was revived again,thus inheriting the mantle to sun Tianmu.Through the methods of literature collection,theoretical reading and image analysis,this paper is divided into four chapters: the first chapter,the textual research and context carding of "School of the north" landscape.This paper discriminates the "School of the north" landscape and the northern landscape painting school,and analyzes their respective meanings and interrelations,as well as the context and artistic characteristics of the development of the "School of the north" landscape.The second chapter is about Sun Tianmu’s artistic origin and social experience.This paper discusses Sun Tianmu’s artistic origin and the environmental factors of artistic growth from four aspects: the origin of family learning,teaching at Jilin Art College and social communication.The third chapter,the artistic stages and painting style of Sun Tianmu’s landscape painting.By consulting materials and painting pictures,Sun Tianmu’s landscape painting is divided into three periods: before 1960 s,from 1960 s to mid-1980 s,from1960s to mid-1980 s,and from mid-1980 s to 2010.and then get Sun Tianmu’s artistic style and interrelation in each period.The fourth chapter is about the artistic achievement and influence of Sun Tianmu Mountain.Sun Tianmu sets up the unique style of "north bone and south wind",opens the modern style of "School of the north" landscape,inherits the mantle context of "School of the north" landscape,and promotes the pluralistic development of "School of the north",Summarize the achievements and influences of a generation of great masters Sun Tianmu in the inheritance and innovation of "School of the north" landscape painting.
