National English curriculum standards for Senior high school emphasizes the integration of Instrumentality and Humanity of English Curriculum in China.It is expected to improve students’ cross-cultural communication ability through the study of English courses.Specifically,the practicing approach is to integrate humanistic features with the realizations of instrumental objectives of English courses.Therefore,the proper use of language is the basis of the humanistic realization of the English curriculum.However,in the real classroom teaching,there are many problems,such as "emphasizing reading,neglecting listening and hearing,emphasizing testing and neglecting application".In view of this,this study will focus on the current situation of high school students.This study will explore relations between high school students’ oral output attributes and oral meaning through the specific oral output task(picture narrative),and found that the problems of high school students’ oral output.According to that,we hope to provide specific coping strategies for high school English classroom teaching.Based on Kormos’ s Second Language Output Model,Monitoring Theory,Thinking Adaptive Control Theory,and Cognitive Processing Theory,this study used natural experiment method,corpus analysis methods as research methods.The researcher took sixty students in grade eleven in Kekedala No.M middle school as the research objects and they took High school English writing test volume(cartoon)as the test tool,and previous fluency analysis table,complexity analysis table,accuracy analysis table,communicative adequacy scale and Cool Edit Pro as measuring tools,WPS as transcription tool,SPSS24.0 as statistical tool.This research mainly explore the effects of fluency,complexity,accuracy on communicative adequacy in English learner’s picture narrative task.The following four questions were studied: First,What is the relation between the subjects’ oral fluency and their communicative adequacy? There are two specific sub-questions: What is the relation between subjects’ oral speed fluency and their communicative adequacy?What is the relation between their oral breakdown fluency and their communicative adequacy? Second,What is the relation between the oral complexity and their communicative adequacy? There are two specific sub-questions: What is the relation between the subjects’ oral lexical complexity and their communicative adequacy? What is the relation between their syntactic complexity and their communicative adequacy? Third,What is the relation between subjects’ oral accuracy and their communicative adequacy?Fourth,What is the relation between their oral fluency,complexity,accuracy and their communicative adequacy?The findings are as follows: First,Oral fluency is a significant predictor of communicative adequacy.It can predict the 83.41 percent of the variation in communicative adequacy.R square =0.8341,P=0.000.Specifically speaking,Participants showed a significant positive correlation between oral speed fluency and their communicative adequacy,r=0.8025,P=0.01;Oral breakdown fluency is a significant predictor of communicative adequacy.R square =0.8104,p=0.000.There is a significant correlation between the average silent pauses and communicative adequacy.r=-0.8942,P=0.01 and there is a significant correlation between the average filled pauses and communicative adequacy.r=-0.2142,P=0.05 but there is no significant correlation between average pause length and communicative adequacy.Second,oral complexity is a significant predictor of communicative adequacy.It can predict the 11.2percent of the variation in communicative adequacy.R square =0.112,P=0.000.Specifically speaking,Lexical complexity is a significant predictor of communicative adequacy.It can predict the 8.3 percent of the variation in communicative adequacy.R square =0.083,P=0.000.Syntactic complexity is a significant predictor of communicative adequacy.It can predict the 3.7 percent of the variation in communicative adequacy.R square =0.037,P=0.000.Third,Oral accuracy is a significant predictor of communicative adequacy.It can predict the 44.1 percent of the variation in communicative adequacy.R square =0.441,P=0.000;There is a significant correlation between the errors per 100 words and communicative adequacy.r=-0.6606,P=0.05,but there is no significant correlation between ratio of error-free T-units、 ratio of error-free clause and communicative adequacy.Fourth,The fluency,complexity and accuracy of their oral English can significantly affect communicative adequacy,and they can predict 87.21% of the change in communicative adequacy,R square=0.8721.P=0.000.Based on the above research results,the researcher further discussed the reason of specific relation between language fluency,complexity,accuracy and communicative adequacy of English learners,and analyzed the similarities and differences between this study and previous studies.Finally,the researcher proposed a strategy to promote the adequacy of learners in high school English classroom teaching.
