With passion and deep reflection for the traditional Chinese opera,the author considers many elements from the traditional Chinese arts can be utilized and integrated into the production of electronic music.The traditional Chinese Opera is an exquisite stage art with diversity as it develops based on multiple art forms.It has unique tunes and grooves with vivid characteristics of traditional Chinese arts.On the other hand,electronic music excels at shaping and exploring the timbre of sounds.Therefore,the author would like to take the advantage of both worlds to broaden the perspective for electronic music composition,and provide electronic music with an extra aesthetic.In this essay,the author selects one of the most representative Chinese opera-the Peking Opera as an example,dives deep into the interaction between Peking Opera’s unique rhythm and the electronic music work QiongQi and Xigu,and further discusses the distinct groove and sound an electronic music composition can have by modifying a sample or motif.By arguing and analyzing the topics in this essay,the author hopes to provide some inspiration for people who are exploring in the field of music composition. |
