In 1910,the film first entered Suzhou,Jiangsu Province.In the following years,the film showed a slow development trend,and the scope of the film was very narrow.In September 1918,Fei Yun Film Company was established,which is the first operating film theater in Suzhou.Its appearance reversed the awkward situation of Suzhou film development,since then,new cinemas have sprung up like mushrooms.By 1927,the major theatres began to engage in film screening business,and the commercial basic pattern of early Suzhou film screening industry was established.With the development of political economy and relatively loose social and cultural environment,during the“Golden Decade”of the Republic of China from 1927 to 1937,the major cinemas in Suzhou competed strategies to seize the market.The film screening industry has achieved great development and has become a mature business.Through the excavation and sorting of the first-hand materials such as newspapers and documents in Suzhou during the Republic of China,this paper examines the time when films were introduced to Suzhou,and sorts out the development context of early Suzhou films,including the establishment of the commercial pattern of Suzhou film projection industry and the prosperity of Suzhou film projection industry.,and explore the historical value of studying the early film screening industry in Suzhou.Through the study of the early Suzhou film projection industry,we can find that: 1)Before 1926,Suzhou film projection was mainly used for fundraising,fundraising,feasting,missionary,etc.And it often exists in the nature of sojourn and dissociation,and it is not an independent film projection institution.2)After the commercial operation,the film projection industry in Suzhou has developed rapidly,opening a sample for cities outside Shanghai to seek local production.3)Early Suzhou film screenings had strong geo-cultural attributes and distinctive national era characteristics,which not only promoted the development of local film screenings,but also promoted the construction of Chinese consciousness and the awakening of national consciousness.in accordance with.
