As a symbol of freedom and beauty,the butterfly creates a harmonious and peaceful living environment with its gorgeous colors and graceful dancing,and also has beautiful connotations.Butterfly pattern is a traditional pattern in China,which contains rich cultural meaning.This paper takes the butterfly stripes on ceramics as the starting point,summarizes the law of development and evolution of the butterfly stripes on ceramics,analyzes its performance in the form,subject matter and technology in the development process and the social and cultural environment in which it grows,and explores the reasons for its development.The methods of literature tracing,case analysis,comparative analysis and image study were used to study the sphenoid pattern.This paper discusses from the following three aspects: First,comb the development of the butterfly stripes on ceramics and focus on the development of the butterfly stripes on ceramics in the Ming and Qing dynasties.Second,comb and compare the composition,shape and style of butterfly pattern,analyze the connotation of theme combination and symbolic significance of butterfly pattern,and analyze the influence of the development of techniques on butterfly pattern from the perspective of technology,in an attempt to comprehensively analyze the development of butterfly pattern.Thirdly,the cultural environment of butterfly pattern development is analyzed from the aspects of religious belief,national culture and ideology.In this paper,the connotation and combination of butterfly patterns express the Chinese people’s concept of auspiciousness and the psychology of praying for good luck.In the process of development,butterfly patterns gradually combine with other auspicious patterns to form a pattern combination with rich connotation,which fully accords with the ideological theme of people’s pursuit of beauty.The development of technology is the fundamental reason for the development of butterfly stripes in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Secondly,Western demand for porcelain promoted the development of butterfly pattern.
