The Research On Confucius’ Thought Of Social Governance From The Perspective Of Benevolence

Confucius,As the founder of Confucianism,has rich ideological connotations and plays an important role in the research of Chinese issues.And since the third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee proposed to speed up the formation of a scientific and effective social governance system,"social governance" has formally entered the field of study of Chinese scholars,and various kinds of studies have flooded in.On the basis of this background,it is beneficial to enrich the connotation of the thought of socialist social governance with Chinese characteristics by going back to the thoughtof Confucius and exploring the historical and ideological resources in accordance with the modern governance ideaDuring the Spring and Autumn period,the royal family declined,the political power was transferred from monarchy to principality,and the social rites collapsed.How to rebuild and maintain the social order is a problem that Confucius has been thinking about.Therefore,Confucius exalted the humanist spirit of love,and creatively put forward the theory of"benevolence",thinking that "benevolence" contains the connotation of "self-love" and "love others",and advocated that through "self-love" and "learning" to be "adult",a gentleman and a human being can be created.and built a harmonious and friendly social atmosphere,laying a foundation for the construction of an orderly society.However,it is not realistic to maintain the stability of social order only by relying on "benevolence",and certain etiquette norms and relevant punishment measures are necessary to stabilize it.Therefore,Confucius put forward"combinating morality with ritual" as social governance principles,under the guidance of this principle,Confucius advocated that taking a gentle way of governing society,giving full play to the role of government in the management,guidance and regulation of socialaffairs,and guiding social forces to actively participate in the governance of social affairs,distributing rationally social wealth and reconciling social contradictions,Thus promoting harmonious interaction between the government governed by virtue and the society.Confucius’ thought of social governance is not only his vision of an ideal society,but also a response to realistic problems.Although limited by the dynasty,Confucius’ thoughts on social governance lay too much emphasis on the power of benevolence and rule by virtue,and put all hope on the emperor,whichmakes it impossible to be realized.However,the rich connotation and the value of his thought of social governance are still shining beyond time and space,which has been continuously inherited and developed by scholars of later generations,and also provides certain reference for the construction of socialist governance system with Chinese characteristics.
