The rapid development of digital media has not only enriched the ways in which visual information can be presented,but also deeply impacted the emotional transmission of visual information.This paper delves into the application of empathy design in digital media through the combination of empathy theory and emotional design.By incorporating empathy design into the creative process of designers and utilizing the graphic,color,and sound elements of digital media to present empathy design,the goal is to achieve a cognitive and emotional interaction between visual information and the audience,thereby evoking emotional resonance.This paper explores the following aspects of empathy design in digital media:Firstly,an analysis of empathy theory is conducted,including its emotional foundation,constituent factors,and concepts.Based on this foundation,the non-rational factors of empathy design are analyzed and the relationships between emotional,imaginative,and inspirational factors are summarized,as well as the differences between empathy design and emotional design.Secondly,the visual design characteristics based on empathy strategy in the digital age are analyzed from the perspectives of both the audience and designers,exploring the principles and significance of empathy design in digital media,in order to provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent "empathy strategy for visual information design in the digital age".Thirdly,the process of empathy design in digital media is explored,by integrating the previously mentioned theories into the visual presentation of empathy design in the graphic,color,text,motion,sound,and sensation elements of visual information in digital media.The psychological mechanisms that occur when visual information generates empathy in these visual elements are summarized and analyzed.Finally,the future development and expectations of empathy design are discussed in light of the digital age,and corresponding development directions are proposed.
