Every country and nation ultimately moves towards modernization,which is a general law of human social development.Throughout the process of modernization in various countries around the world,with the opening of new routes and the development of the industrial revolution,capitalism has taken the lead in initiating the process of modernization.Although it has to some extent increased labor productivity and improved people’s lives,there are also various contradictions and drawbacks,and socialist modernization has emerged as a result.Socialist modernization is a development based on the absorption of various advantages of capitalist modernization.In particular,Chinese path to modernization has created a new form of human civilization.Marx’s Modernization theory not only criticizes capitalist modernization,but also correctly grasps the internal law and development trend of modernization.Capitalism has opened the prelude to modernization and promoted the development of world modernization,but in the process of capitalist modernization,it is not through peaceful means,but full of violence and coercion.Where there is oppression,there is resistance.The proletariat stepped onto the stage of history and longed for the modernization plan of Scientific socialism to save them,but the original plan was full of wishful thinking.Under the background of the continuous impact of the achievements of modern civilization and the first wave of world modernization,Marx’s Modernization theory came into being,realizing the development of socialist Modernization theory from fantasy to science.While praising the achievements of modernization,Marx also reflected on the drawbacks brought about by modernization.He used Dialectic to study modern society,and formed and developed Modernization theory in the process of criticizing capitalist modernization.The word "criticism" runs through Marx’s Modernization theory.So Marx’s critical theory dissects the foundation of modern social history with a rational critical spirit.In the criticism,Marx’s Modernization theory has experienced three stages:the first stage is to lay the philosophical foundation of modernization in the process of comprehensive criticism,the second stage is to reveal the law of modernization in the criticism of Political economy,and the third stage is to learn from the reasons for the failure of modernization in backward countries.The development process of Marx’s Modernization theory is the process of unifying"explaining the world" and "transforming the world".On the basis of historical materialism and Surplus value theory,Marx summarized the basic characteristics of modernization,discussed the driving force of modernization,and finally answered the "historical puzzle" of "what kind of modernization can be achieved in human society,how to achieve modernization,and who can rely on to achieve it".Modernization,as a global economic and social transformation and civilization progress,is not only an inevitable choice for the development of each country,but also an unremitting pursuit.Modernization is the only way for a country,nation,or region to move towards prosperity,strength,harmony,and stability.Since the founding of the CPC,its goal has been to achieve modernization.The Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Significant Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party’s Centennial Struggle adopted at the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China pointed out that "the Party has led the people to successfully walk out of the path of Chinese path to modernization,created a new form of human civilization,expanded the path of developing countries to modernization,and provided new options for countries and nations in the world that both hope to accelerate development and maintain their independence." In the new era,Chinese path to modernization has given a new era connotation and historical mission,which is the inheritance and development of Marx’s Modernization theory.Of course,there are still some problems and challenges in the process of China’s modernization development.It is still necessary for us to combine the basic principles of Marxism with China’s specific reality and with China’s excellent traditional culture,and use Chinese path to modernization to promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.At present,China is making continuous progress and exploration towards the goal of building a socialist modernization country in an all-round way.A thorough study of Marx’s Modernization theory can not only grasp the process of world modernization research with Marx’s basic position and perspective of modernization,but also achieve new victories for China’s continuous efforts to build a socialist modernization country in an all-round way.
