A Report On The Translation Of English Economic News Under The Guidance Of Functional Equivalance Theory

The increasing prosperity of the economy has promoted the information exchange and communication between China and other countries.Therefore,foreign periodicals and newspapers have become one of the main sources for Chinese people to know about the world,and a large number of relevant translations have emerged.With the increasing economic strength of China,the economic and cultural exchanges between China and other countries are also increasing.In the process of information communication,the Chinese translation of English economic news plays an important role that cannot be ignored.However,the quality of translating English economic news into Chinese is not satisfactory.Therefore,how to improve the quality of translating English economic news into Chinese is a research topic with practical significance.Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,this translation report selects some economic news of CNN news translated by the author during her internship in China Daily as the research text,aiming to explore the application and methods of functional equivalence theory in the process of E-C economic news translation.The report first makes a brief introduction to translation projects,gives a brief overview of functional equivalence theory,and then analyzes translation cases from the perspectives of vocabulary,syntax and discourse.Finally,the report comes to the conclusion that functional equivalence theory plays a key role in guiding economic news translation,and makes a summary of this translation practice.
