The Emotional Narrative Research Of Character Documentary

Art is the expression of emotion,so is documentary.The emotional expression of documentary is never a simple one-way indoctrination,but a two-way emotional interaction and empathy communication between the documentary creator and the audience.As an art form with characters as the core of expression,character documentary aims to highlight human subjectivity,show human dignity,humanistic spirit and humanistic care from the perspective of human.Any documentary is the expression of the creator’s subjective emotion,emotion is the core of narrative,narrative is the external presentation of emotion.Therefore,how to convey the emotions of the creators with the help of the video and give full play to the social value and cultural significance of the documentary is the focus of the documentary creators in the process of practice.Taking the graduation work The Father and the Sea as an example,this paper analyzes the emotional narration in the creation of character documentary.The main research contents are as follows:The introduction mainly discusses the research background,research status,research significance and research methods of emotional narration in character documentary;The first chapter,on the basis of literature review,defines the concept of character documentary and emotional narrative,and summarizes the development process of character documentary.The second chapter,from the narrative perspective and narrative content,discusses how the character documentary achieves emotion expression with the help of micro perspective and micro narrative.Chapter three and chapter four give a detailed interpretation of the documentary The Father and the Sea from the perspective of audio-visual language.Among them,the third chapter focuses on the analysis of the poetic image language in the documentary,such as the empty shot of creating artistic conception with the help of metaphorical image,sublimating emotion,the long shot of realizing emotional continuity in continuous time and space,and the close-up shot of enlarging details to strengthen emotion,etc.The fourth chapter,from the perspective of hearing,analyzes the character monologue,third person narration,natural sound effect and music in the documentary,and discusses how sound elements participate in image narration,enhance the sense of reality of the picture and express the inner emotions of the characters.The conclusion summarizes and reflects on the emotional narrative research of character documentary based on the creation practice of the documentary The Father and the Sea,and focuses on the importance of emotional expression in the creation of character documentary and the specific path to achieve emotional narrative of documentary,in order to provide some useful thinking for the creation and research of character documentary in the future.
