Wangyucheng was an important poet in the early Northern Song Dynasty. His poetry creation was different because of his different life experiences. In the second year of Chunhua(991),Wang Yucheng was demoted to Shangzhou, where he lived for nearly two years.Of the 579 poems in his collection of small animals and collection of small animals,227 were written in Shangzhou. In this regard, the author will take Wang Yucheng’s life experience as the research background, take Shangzhou regional culture as the perspective, comprehensively grasp his travel experience and creation during the period of living in Shang Dynasty, and adopt the horizontal and vertical comparative research methods to conduct an overall analysis and Discussion on his Shangzhou poems.According to Wang Yucheng’s whereabouts and poems during his stay in Shangzhou, his life circumstances during his exile in Shangzhou can be divided into three stages: on his way to Shangzhou,at the beginning of his exile in Shangzhou, and living in Shangzhou for a long time. All these together constitute a complete stage of Wang Yucheng’s exile in Shangzhou.During his stay in Shangzhou, when his officials were idle,he liked to make friends to relieve his depression, created a large number of social poems, and gradually established a interpersonal pattern with regional characteristics. In the past two years, his personal personality and poetry creation have been deeply imprinted with the historical imprint of Shangzhou culture: in his Shangzhou poems, there are not only praises for the noble character of the famous Shangzhou cultural figure Sihao, but also many chants on the ancient road post station Yangcheng post station,as well as multiple displays of Shangzhou’s unique folk culture, forming a kind of writing and inheritance of Shangzhou culture.During the period of living in Shang Dynasty,Wang Yucheng "specialized in singing and satirizing for his career".Influenced by Shangzhou culture and regional environment, his poetry at this stage showed different artistic styles, and his poetry writing skills were increasingly refined.Influenced by the unique regional environment of Shangzhou, the selection of poetic images presents regional writing characteristics, including the description of the beautiful landscape of Shangzhou and the remembrance of the past scenes of the capital. The theme of his poems shows the changing characteristics of stages: in his early years,he was in the rising period of official career, his mood tended to ease, and most of his poems were written in an individual’s leisure mood;During his exile to Shangzhou, due to the change of individual mentality, the theme of his poems evolved into the diversified expression of individual emotion of losing ambition. At the same time, compared with the early poems, the poems at this stage have undergone great changes in the use of allusions, the creation of poetic artistic conception and the writing of preface, all of which have made Wang Yucheng’s Shangzhou poetry more and more mature.Through the analysis of the writing characteristics of Wang Yucheng’s Shangzhou poems,it can be found that Shangzhou poems occupy an important position in his whole poetry creation and have certain research value and significance. The study of this can broaden the research horizon of Wang Yucheng’s poems and enrich the research of Shangzhou regional literature.
