| Calligraphy education originated from the "Six Arts" in the Western Zhou Dynasty.Since then,calligraphy education,as an important form of education,has existed in official and private schools in all dynasties.Zhu Yuanzhang,the emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty,established the policy of culture and education after the founding of the People’s Government to govern the country by literature,greatly revitalize schools,and attach importance to the role of education in the country,and restore the imperial examination system abandoned by the Yuan Dynasty,tying school education to the imperial examination,school became the only way for literati to take part in the imperial examination,and calligraphy was also established as one of the compulsory subjects in school.The strong support of the government made the official schools flourish in the early Ming Dynasty.Calligraphy courses and calligraphy lecturers were set up in the Imperial College,social science and other schools,and calligraphy education in the Ming Dynasty was fully developed.In the middle and late Ming Dynasties,academies were revived,and academy students could enter the official career through the imperial examination.In order to meet the needs of the examination,calligraphy was also a subject for academy students to practice frequently.Administrators formulated various rules and learning rules,which included the requirements for students to learn calligraphy.The emphasis of officials and private schools on calligraphy education in the Ming Dynasty made the calligraphy education develop rapidly and played an important role in the history of calligraphy education in ancient China.This paper sorted out and analyzed the overall situation of calligraphy education in Ming Dynasty from three parts.Based on the real historical records,it summarized the requirements and regulations of calligraphy education in imperial college,social sciences,academies and imperial families in Ming Dynasty,as well as the self-education of calligraphers.It also investigated calligraphy teaching materials and calligraphy education theories in Ming Dynasty.This paper analyzes the teaching methods,modes and ideas of calligraphy education in Ming Dynasty.Calligraphy education in Ming Dynasty has obvious characteristics of practicability and standardization.The last chapter is the focus of this paper,which probes into the influence of calligraphy education in Ming Dynasty on calligraphy education in Qing Dynasty and the enlightenment to contemporary calligraphy education.The purpose of studying calligraphy education in Ming Dynasty is to take history as a mirror and explore the future development direction of contemporary calligraphy education.Whether the calligraphy art education can be better inherited depends on the continuous improvement and positive development of the whole calligraphy education system in the future.We should criticize the inheritance of the calligraphy education system in the Ming Dynasty,take its essence and discard its dross,and make the contemporary calligraphy education to a higher level. |
