A Study Of Time Words In Barnzhuang Language

Many scholars have paid attention to the special status of Chinese time words and their functions,whether in terms of their definition,scope,grammatical functions,or new perspectives such as cross-linguistic comparisons.Compared with Chinese,there are fewer studies on Zhuang time words,and even fewer studies on time words at a particular point in Zhuang.Therefore,this paper investigates the Zhuang time words in Panmin Tun,Bafa Village,Bama Town,Bama County,Hechi City,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,and uses them as the basis to study the Bama Zhuang time words in terms of their classification,syntax,characteristics,origin and evolution,hoping to provide new contents for the study of Zhuang time words.The paper begins with an overall statement on the study of time words in Chinese and Zhuang-Dong languages,points out the contributions and shortcomings of related studies,and explains the purpose,significance and methodology of the study,as well as the definition of important concepts,so as to lay the foundation for the study.The Bamar Zhuang time words can be classified from multiple perspectives: according to the lexical nature of time words,they can be divided into time nouns and time adverbs;according to the duration of time words,they can be divided into time point time words and time period words;according to the rationale for the composition of time words,they can be divided into three categories: celestial reference,human reference,and time point reference.The concepts embodied in Bama Zhuang time words are related to the practical experience of production and life,and the cognition of time has also developed,from the initial cognition and division of time in general not fine to fine,and the reference frame for time is intuitive.In terms of syntactic function,Bamajong time words can act as a variety of syntactic components,and time nouns have the syntactic characteristics of common nouns,which can be used as subject,predicate,object,determiner,gerund and complement,while time adverbs can only be used as gerunds.Based on the analysis,using the theories of fuzzy linguistics,cognitive linguistics,symmetry and asymmetry,it is analyzed and summarized that Bama Zhuang time words have the characteristics of precision and fuzziness,figurative and non-figurative,symmetry and asymmetry.In terms of evolution,Bama Zhuang time words are mainly evolved from orientation words,adjectives and phrases,and show the characteristics of evolution from precise to fuzzy.
