A Study On Urban Nostalgia Of Di An’s Writing

With the development of the times and the progress of urbanization,the city has evolved to a higher level.Modern metropolises have become the ideal residence instead of small and medium-sized cities.The post-80 s generation,as complete new urban citizens,are sentimentally attached to the cities,for cities are their homeland and have special emotional significance to them.Di An’s nostalgic writing is based on her personal emotional experience of urban life,and constructs the urban nostalgia of the post-80 s new citizens.In Di An’s urban nostalgic novels,she preserves the memory of her personal growth,records the youth of the post-80 s generation,describes the psychological changes and emotional experiences brought by urban changes to people,and also displays the survival scene and emotional state of contemporary urban citizens.This paper is divided into five parts,which respectively discuss Di An’s urban nostalgia from the following aspects: realistic background and basic content,style and characteristics,value orientation,narrative strategy,aesthetic value and the decline of meaning.The first chapter focuses on Di An’s conceptualization of urban nostalgia.Di An’s urban nostalgic writing has a certain historical background.In the spatial dimension,it refers to the urban space on which the new citizens of the post-80 s depended for existence;in the time dimension,it refers to the historical period from the 1980 s to the present time.As a unique emotional mode,urban nostalgia includes people’s "sorrow" about the city,society,others and themselves.The second chapter summarizes the style and characteristics of urban nostalgia in Di An’s novels.Di An’s description of urban nostalgia is idealistic,but it also reveals the cruelty of reality.Urban nostalgia does not make explicit references to a specific hometown,it starts with the individual emotional experience of urban citizens,but it shows the common characteristics of this group.In her novels,the main characters recall their psychological experience and emotional changes in the process of self-growth,and this kind of nostalgic complex constitutes the driving force for their continuous growth and maturity.The third chapter evaluates the value orientation of Di An’s urban nostalgia.In Di An’s novels,the value orientation of urban nostalgia caters to the mentality of the new citizens of the post-80 s generation and confirms the realistic secular spirit.It is mainly embodied in the love view featuring the coexistence of true feelings and utilitarianism,the way of survival based on the materialism,and the realistic axiology.The fourth chapter discusses the narrative strategy of Di An’s urban nostalgia.Di An prefers to use the first person narrative perspective,which has exuberant emotion and is convenient for the author to express the "nostalgia".Di An’s narrative language is sincere,enthusiastic and unrestrained in expressing her feelings.It reveals the spirit of freedom between the lines and has the characteristics of both prose and poetry.Di An adopts the psycho-emotional mode in the narration,and the lyricism and narration coexist and complement each other in her novels.The fifth chapter summarizes the aesthetic value of Di An’s urban nostalgic works and the decline of the meaning of "nostalgia".Di An’s urban nostalgic writing is of supplementary significance to the development of urban novels in the new century,and reflects the social reality and human nature by writing urban nostalgia.But at the same time,the lack of life experience led to Di An’s anxiety about the "performance" of the role of writer in the "front stage",and the role of "bookseller" in the “back stage” also damaged the literary value of her works.
