This translation practice is based on the Chinese translation of the original English book,Cashless: China’s Digital Currency Revolution, which is an economic text. The purpose of this practice is to discuss the translation difficulties and strategies of this type. Moreover, the self-built terminology database is hoped to help translators to deal with the economic texts. This translation practice is conducted under the guidance of “Comprehension,Expression and Adaption”(CEA)framework proposed by Li Changshuan and Shi Xiaojing.Based on typical cases, the author analyzes how to solve the translation difficulties from three perspectives,in order to enhance the acceptability of the translated text.At present, the framework is rarely used in the translation of economic texts. Therefore, this study has important academic research value. The case analysis is carried out from three aspects. In terms of “Comprehension”,the main difficulties are determining the exact meaning of economic terms and understanding the context and background information. As for “Expression”,the main difficulties are avoiding the translationese, adjusting the expression order and using the idiomatic expressions. For“Adaption”,the main difficulties are adding and omitting information, and resolving problems flexibly.Through this task, the author concludes that “Comprehension”,“Expression” and“Adaption” are three indispensable procedures in the process of translation. The translator should fully understand the text,be good at restructuring the original content, and be able to adjust the translation according to specific circumstances. |
