A Study On The Shape Characteristics Of The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom ’s Mansions And The Motivations For Their Evolution

The Mansions of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom,as an indispensable part of the history of modern Chinese architecture,carry this magnificent history,and at the same time have undergone tremendous changes with the rise and fall of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.The14 th year of the establishment of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was a turbulent 14 th year.These Mansions did not form a complete set of architectural systems in the troubled times,but there were traces to follow.We can still see the evolution of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s Mansions from the dynamic perspective,summarize the unique features and evolutionary reasons.This paper analyzes the construction background of the Mansions by studying the existing historical records and some historical relics of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s Mansions,and sorts out the historical evolution of the Mansions from the budding period,to the development period,to the early stage,and then to the miscellaneous period,and then I summarize the spatial pattern,single shape and decorative characteristics of the Mansions in different periods.In addition,this paper analyzes the new form formed by the superposition of cultural,institutional and individual factors in the dynamic evolution of Mansions‘architecture,so as to explore the uniqueness of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s Mansions under the influence of multiple.This paper is divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,by combing the theoretical research at home and abroad.I clarified the background,object and significance of the research,and I also determined the research content and method route.The second chapter describes the background of the construction of the Taiping Palace.This chapter introduces the era background of internal and external troubles at that time.Moreover,it also explained the political system background of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom to establish a country and seal a king with religion.The third chapter discusses the characteristics of the evolution of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom ’s Mansion,and sorts out the historical evolution of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s Mansion from the budding period of the Yongan establishment,to the development period of the capture of Wuchang,to the beginning of the establishment of the capital of Tianjing,and finally to the miscellaneous period after the Tianjing Incident.From this,I summarize the shape and characteristics of the Mansions at various stages,and compare the palaces of different levels of kings to analyze their respective development laws.Chapter 4,Chapter 5,Chapter 6,is from the three aspects of cultural motivation,institutional motivation and individual motivation,explaining how the Mansions of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom were influenced by various factors in the process of evolution and development,so as to show the morphological characteristics that belong to the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom itself.The seventh chapter is the conclusion and prospect.This part summarizes the full text,points out the insufficiency of the work of this paper,and makes an outlook on the protection of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s Mansion in the future.
