At the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020,the pneumonia epidemic caused by COVID-19 had spread rapidly from Wuhan to the whole country.In just a few months,the COVID-19 had a huge impact on China’s livelihood,economy,social order and many other aspects.The Chinese spirit has been enriched by countless moving feats and heroes during the time of united efforts to fight the epidemic.The construction and preservation of disaster memories related to COVID-19 will help future generations remember and reflect on the disaster,which is conducive to the cohesion of social forces and the steady progress of the country.Since the outbreak of COVID-19,the China Media Group has produced and broadcast a large number of documentary films(according to incomplete statistics,there are 17 anti-epidemic documentaries),which have timely and truthfully recorded scenes from the "front line of COVID-19 response",linked individual and collective memories,and played a huge role in building memories of the COVID-19 disaster.Therefore,this article will with the 2020 China Media Group’s anti-epidemic documentaries as the main research object,using the text analysis and case analysis,focusing on the value and specific construction methods of disaster memory in these anti-epidemic documentaries,as well as the strategies followed by these construction methods,and the enlightenment for anti-epidemic documentaries to construct disaster memory in the future.The study found that the anti-epidemic documentaries of the China Media Group in 2020 and anti-epidemic media works other than documentaries complement each other and complement each other,jointly constructing the disaster memory of COVID-19.However,compared with other anti-epidemic media works,anti-epidemic documentaries have the characteristics of recording the real history with "non-fiction" images,reproducing the anti-epidemic story in a panoramic way,filling the memory gap,inspiring group identity and building social consensus.Specifically,this paper will study the construction of disaster memory in the2020 China Media Group anti-epidemic documentary from two aspects of "narrative perspective" and "image presentation"."Grand narrative" expands the memory space,"micro narrative" captures the glimmer of memory,and "fusion narrative" polishes the bright light of memory.These three narrative perspectives form the image narrative strategy of constructing disaster memory for anti-epidemic documentary from different aspects."Memory" technology with modern means,"mental picture" to show the scene of a symbolic "memory" with on-the-spot element,"memory subject" selected representative figures,"memory" is focused on the typical city,these images present methods constitute the disease resistant documentary construct disaster memory image content strategy.Through the above two video strategies,the theme of "Interpreting China’s power with great anti-epidemic spirit" can be highlighted,and the inheritance of the anti-epidemic spirit of anti-epidemic documentary can make the memory of disaster continue.In general,the China Media Group’s anti-epidemic documentary in 2020 constructed a panoramic memory of the disaster from multiple angles,aspects and levels under the communication philosophy of "People first" and "life first".Its enlightenment on the construction of disaster memory for future anti-epidemic documentaries is reflected in the following four aspects: selecting memory frame for content integration,constructing memory space in multiple dimensions,innovating the recording mode of production subject,and strengthening the construction of periodic memory. |
