Textual cohesive devices can make scattered clauses aggregate into a whole.According to different cohesive purposes,cohesive devices will show different textual cohesive patterns in different contexts.Due to the various forms and types of textual cohesive devices are rich,even intermediate and advanced Chinese learners have some problems in using them.Therefore,this paper studies the cohesion of oral discourse of intermediate and advanced Chinese learners in the Chinese oral dialogue program <A Bright World>.Through our research,we can have a further understanding of the oral discourse cohesion of Chinese learners in this learning stage,and provide some reference for promoting the development of discourse teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.In the study of oral discourse cohesion,we analyze the types of cohesive devices used by Chinese learners,the use tendency of cohesive devices and some special phenomena in the use of cohesive devices.After analyzing the errors of Chinese learners’ output,we put forward relevant suggestions for the teaching of discourse cohesion as a foreign language.This paper is mainly divided into six parts.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly expounds the research purpose and significance of this paper,determines the research object and scope,defines the research methods and corpus sources,and puts forward the innovation of this research after combing and summarizing the previous literature.The second chapter expounds the types of cohesive devices used in oral discourse in the corpus,mainly including referential cohesion,structural cohesion,logical connection cohesion,discourse marker cohesion and special types of cohesion.The third chapter mainly investigates the use of cohesive devices in oral discourse from the perspective of macro cohesive devices and micro cohesive phenomena.At the macro level,we analyze the use tendency of oral discourse cohesion of intermediate and advanced Chinese learners,and make a correlation analysis based on the use of speech pause and referential distance.At the micro level,we find some special cohesive phenomena of Chinese learners in oral discourse.By investigating the use of cohesive devices in oral discourse of intermediate and advanced Chinese learners,we can further understand the characteristics of oral discourse produced by Chinese learners.The fourth chapter analyzes the errors in the use of cohesive devices in Chinese learners’ oral discourse,finds that Chinese learners have more errors in the use of referential cohesion,structural cohesion and logical connection cohesion,and analyzes the causes on the basis of the types of errors.The fifth chapter puts forward some suggestions on the learning and teaching of oral discourse cohesion in Chinese as a foreign language.The last part is the conclusion of this paper,which summarizes the research content of this paper and puts forward the deficiencies in the research process.
