| Cao Xueshi,known as Yi Nan and Zhen Ting,was a native of She County,Anhui Province.He travelled in Yangzhou and Xuancheng in his early years,and served as governor of Macheng and Chongyang in Hubei Province.He later resigned from his post and lived out his old age at home.He is the author of the poetry manuscript of Zhu Yinlou,the poetry notes of xiaochuang Xiangxue,the poetry notes of Xiangxue,the literary notes of Xiangxue,the chronicle of his travels in the Yellow Sea,and the ode to the yin and yang.This article uses the newly discovered the poetry manuscript of Zhu Yinlou and other rare documents to conduct a comprehensive study of Cao Xueshi’s life,his friendships,and poetic creations in relation to the circumstances of the time in which he lived.It consists of four main parts.The introductory section discusses the purpose,significance and value of the study of Cao Xueshi and his poetry,compares and analyses existing research findings,and clarifies research ideas and methods.The first chapter is an examination of Cao Xueshi’s life and friendships.This chapter examines the life and experiences of Cao Xueshi,discusses the influence of the family traditions of the Xiongcun Cao family on Cao Xueshi’s development,and discusses his friendship with Shi Zhenlin,Huang Songshi,Zheng Songlian,Wu Zhensheng,and Zheng Kunchu,based on the clues provided by works such as the literary notes of Xiangxue and the Anhui Museum’s collection of the rare Zhu Yinlou Poetry Manuscript.The second chapter is a study of Cao Xueshi’s poetry.Based mainly on the poetry manuscript of Zhu Yinlou and the poetry notes of Xiangxue,it analyses the subject matter of Cao Xueshi’s poetry from three perspectives: the reading life of Cao Xueshi,the chronicle of his travels,and his intoxication with painting,and compares his daily life,explores his changes of mind,and further discusses the artistic characteristics of Cao Xueshi’s poetry.The third chapter is a study of Cao Xueshi’s parallel prose.From the perspective of literary style,Cao Xueshi’s voluminous parallel prose is analysed,while the artistic presentation of natural objects and human architecture in the Huizhou region is analysed from the perspective of local knowledge writing,exploring its relationship with the regional culture of Huizhou. |
