| Fantasie in C major Op.17 is a large three-movement suite composed by the great 19 th century German composer and musical poet Robert Schumann(1810-1856).It is a landmark in the history of piano music.It is a personal and inner reflection of his life.He developed and varied the sonata form,cleverly quoting melodic material from Beethoven’s art song.He created it in his own musical language,constructing a stunning harmonic coloration in the major key of C major.He combines his true inner feelings with unique composition techniques.The dramatic contrasts of emotions are splashed out in this work.There are three chapters in this article.The first chapter reviews his contradictory musical character in the main piano works and describes the background of the composition.The second chapter analyzes the structural,melodic,rhythmic,harmonic and tonal characteristics of the piece.The third chapter provides a more detailed study of the understanding and treatment of the performance aspects,providing an intuitive musical experience through the processing of different tones,the interweaving of breath and weaving lines in the long phrases.The interweaved emotions will be analyzed in detail to help the performer express the composer’s intricate emotions more precisely. |
