| Tibetan ancient literature is a part of the valuable cultural heritage of our country.Since its creation,it has comprehensively and systematically preserved the essence of Tibetan spiritual and cultural thought, and gathered the wisdom of Tibetan people for thousands of years. It is only through the continuous efforts of the ancient Tibetan predecessors and scholars in the past generations that such a rich and diverse Tibetan culture has been created. In the long history and cultural development, these ancient books have undergone thousands of years of changes and have been handed down through the process of copying and re-carving.Due to various reasons such as negligence,self-rewriting,and crude production, the content of these ancient books has been subjected to various errors such as erroneous words,off-words,derived words, inverted words, multiple errors, and wrong sentences. These reasons affect the correct understanding and utilization of the contents of Tibetan ancient literature by later scholars, and make the original appearance of Tibetan literature completely distorted. Therefore,in order to solve these problems, scholars of previous generations of Tibetans and successive generations of scholars have maintained these documents by rescuing and collecting, repairing, and proofreading, etc. These ancient proofreaders have carried out specific proofreading practices through various methods or processes such as re-reading and counter-reading.However,a complete theoretical system of proofreading has not yet been developed, except for learning from the proofreading experiences of their predecessors. Therefore, this paper takes these issues as the starting point and conducts research within the limits of its capabilities, with the aim of filling the gaps in the field of proofreading research in Tibetan ancient literature. There are five main parts in this paper, the first of which is a study of the history of the practice of proofreading in Tibetan, taking into account ancient Tibetan history books, the results of previous scholars’ research, and relevant materials. The second chapter explains the different ways of writing the word proofreading in Tibetan proofreading research.Chapter 3 describes the types of errors that occur in documents that need to be proofread:(e.g.,erroneous characters: misspelling of the original text.(e.g.,the wrong word: the original word is lost.Derivation: Adding words that were not there before.Inverted words: the original text is changed in position),etc.Chapter 4 explains the principles and methods of proofreading that a proofreader needs to follow, followed by an introduction to the application of the four most common methods of proofreading(pair proofreading, our school, other proofreading, and rational proofreading).Chapter 5 describes the situation of proofreading Tibetan texts represented by the Ganjur and Danjur, and theoretically explores the difference between editorial proofreading and documentary proofreading. In conclusion, proofreading is one of the most basic disciplines in Tibetan classical literature, and it is also the most important element in the collation of ethnic classical literature.Without understanding the method of proofreading,it is difficult to read and understand ancient documents. |
