| Hakka literature is an important part of Chinese regional literature,and more importantly,an important object of Hakka cultural research.Hakka folklore is an important element in the narrative of Hakka literature,which helps to promote the development of the storyline,strengthen the regional color of the work,depict the life style and cultural scenery of Hakka mountain villages,and make readers feel the unique regional flavor of Hakka from it.Using the research methods of textual analysis and documentary analysis,this thesis attempts to analyze the spirit of Hakka regional culture behind the folk memory writing of Guangdong Hakka literature by looking at the characteristics of folklore writing in terms of language,rituals,and materials that appear in the text.This paper consists of three parts: the introduction,the body,and the conclusion.The introductory section outlines the background of the selected topic and the significance of the study;outlines the current status of the research object;introduces the significance of the study and the research method,and sorts out the relevant concepts and theories.In the main part,four chapters are devoted to the discussion.The first chapter focuses on the background of folklore writing in Guangdong Hakka literature and how writers’ folklore memories of their hometowns are formed,pointing out that the natural geographical environment of the Hakka region in Guangdong has nurtured the unique Hakka folklore culture in the historical context of the southward migration of the Hakka ancestors to Guangdong,which provides background support for folklore writing in Guangdong Hakka literature.In the second chapter,the main ways of constructing folk cultural memory in Guangdong Hakka literary works are explored through the multi-dimensionality of folk memory embodied in the texts,mainly from the aspects of language,materiality and spirituality.At the linguistic level,the expression of Hakka literary folk memory is revealed from Hakka nursery rhymes,Hakka mountain songs,Hakka proverbs,and dialect slang;as well as at the level of material folklore and spiritual folklore,exploring their characteristics in Guangdong Hakka literature on the basis of folklore.Chapter 3 explores the nature of writing folk memory in Guangdong Hakka literature and the cultural spirit it contains,reveals the spiritual outlook of the Hakka people,and reveals the historical value of inheriting Hakka culture.In the fourth chapter,the way in which the folklore works of Guangdong Hakka literature are constructed in folk memory and how they operate is analyzed.As a kind of folk culture carried by public cultural space,regional literary works awaken people’s folk culture self-awareness through the participation of writers and receivers,and realize the path of reconstructing folk memory.In the concluding part,firstly,we summarize and reflect on the research results of the dissertation,and try to analyze how Guangdong Hakka literary writers present folk culture through their literary works,so that it can be passed on and is a new model for future generations to pass on and spread folklore.Secondly,based on the comprehensive analysis of the questionnaire survey,a new way of transmitting Hakka literature and folk culture is sought. |
