| Zhou Sicong’s works on the theme of Yi women were created from the 1980 s to the mid 1990 s of the last century, which was an important transition period in Zhou Sicong’s art.It was also a period of intense innovation and change in the history of Chinese art,a period of collision with Western art,and a period of return to the traditional painting spirit. The combination of innovation and the spirit of " paint the mind " to the traditional,so the works of this period are of great research significance. In order to study this series of works, this paper firstly combs the development process of the traditional theory of " paint the mind " and demonstrates the dialectical relationship between " depict imagery " and " paint the mind ".In the second chapter, the author analyzes Zhou Sicong’s works on female themes of the Yi ethnic group from the three aspects of image, ink and artistic conception, and combines the theory of " unity of mind and image " to draw a conclusion. This series of works is "the integration of mind and image".Through this series of works, the artist expresses her humanistic care, her love for nature and simplicity, her expression of rich self-emotion,and her expression and catharsis of hope and disappointment, creating a "spiritual space" for the self-spiritual interest. In the creation of the female theme of the Yi ethnic group,Zhou Sicong found the artistic theme and visual expression that most fit with her temperament and personality,so it is a return to the traditional spirit of " writing the mind ".In the overall study of the painter Zhou Sicong, part of the analysis and exploration of the painter’s "Yi Women Series" is more profound, and a lot of data collection work has been done. There are also many unique articles on analysis, mostly reminiscences of relatives and friends,as well as some commemorative collections, including letters between artists and friends. Most of the existing dissertations on Zhou Sicong’s works on the theme of Yi women take female consciousness as the starting point, and analyze the precipitation and sublimation of Zhou Sicong’s female consciousness through her works,so as to express the artist’s spiritual world and reflect the artist’s humanistic care for Yi women. As the painter always mentioned,"the transformation is to better express emotions","painting Yi woman is painting myself",etc.,which reflects the "unity of mind and image".The deepest reason is the return and practice of the traditional spirit of " paint the mind ". |
