Research On The Structure Of Wang Zengqi’s Novel

In the history of modern and contemporary Chinese fiction,Wang Zengqi is a writer who cannot be ignored and has a unique aesthetic orientation.While Wang Zengqi’s novels have greater room for interpretation,the uniqueness of the form of the novel and the creative pursuit of the writer implied by the form have yet to be studied in depth.This paper attempts to start from the structure of the novel,discuss the structural consistency between Wang Zengqi’s early stream-of-consciousness novels and later novels,explore the aesthetic transformation and dialectical neutralization techniques that flow in them,and explore the uniqueness of Wang Zengqi’s novel structure in aesthetic orientation and its causes.By clarifying the academic discussion on the structure of Wang Zengqi’s novels,this thesis studies the structure of Wang Zengqi’s novels as a three-dimensional form rather than a plane form on the basis of the concept of integrating all elements at the aesthetic level,and points out that "Scattered outside but connected inside" is the unique appearance of Wang Zengqi’s novel structure.The structural appearance of Wang Zengqi’s novels,which are "Scattered outside but connected inside" is based on the creation of stream of consciousness novels,and is creatively transformed through Wang Zengqi’s acceptance and imitation of stream of consciousness novels,reference and transformation,detachment and reconstruction.The stream of consciousness structure has brought dialectical enlightenment to Wang Zengqi in terms of internal and external,reality and consciousness,dynamic and static,dispersion and completeness.In the process of breaking away from and reconstructing the structure of stream of consciousness novels,Wang Zengqi’s novel structure presents a unique appearance of dialectical integration of Western and Chinese elements.It relies on the flexible and flexible "envelope" structure of stream of consciousness novels,with autonomy in personnel and a balance between the two poles,gradually establishing Wang Zengqi’s "self-contained" novel structure between the artistic tension of accommodation and compression,looseness and connection.The second chapter discusses the thinking style of Wang Zengqi’s novel structure of "Scattered outside but connected inside".The clever ideas used in Wang Zengqi’s novel structure are mainly reflected in three aspects.Firstly,Wang Zengqi applied the structure of the Tongcheng School to the novel,endowing the external structure of the novel with a "lively" and "scattered" form;Secondly,Wang Zengqi takes emotional cohesion and emotional logic as the internal logic of the novel structure,integrating the author,characters,readers,time,events,plot and other elements of the novel,making the internal structure of the novel decisive;Thirdly,Wang Zengqi was deeply influenced by ancient Chinese literary studies,ancient operas,and stream of consciousness novels,focusing on infusing the "literary spirit" discussed by ancient writers into the overall structure of the novel.Through the creation of stream of consciousness and traditional Chinese opera,Wang Zengqi noticed the similarity in spatial processing between the two.The understanding of these two aspects unifies the structure of the novel between the inside and outside,which not only communicates the "divergence" and "interconnectedness" of the structure,but also communicates the grammar traditions of China and the West.The third chapter discusses the internal motivation for the formation of the "Scattered outside but connected inside" structure in Wang Zengqi’s novels,as well as the author’s creative pursuit and aesthetic goals.Wang Zengqi’s opposition and rejection of artificially carved structures,his strong advocacy for internal emotional rhythms,and the purpose of "living methods" are the main driving forces behind the formation of this structural appearance.The pursuit of self nature at the story level and the mastery and transcendence at the aesthetic level are further explorations based on the concept of novel structure.Following the exploration of the depths of the soul in stream of consciousness novels and the fusion of Zen and Taoist ideas in ancient Chinese calligraphy and painting theories,Wang Zengqi intentionally deconstructed the novel structure that carried various human factors,giving personnel the right to spontaneous action.The aesthetic pursuit behind the structure of the novel constitutes the strategic differences in Wang Zengqi’s structural novels,and also reflects Wang Zengqi’s wisdom and ingenuity in transforming different arts.Finally,the "wisdom" of Wang Zengqi’s creation contained in the structure of "Scattered outside but connected inside" shows the process of integration and perfection from the early stage to the late stage.On the one hand,it brings inspiration to contemporary writers in different degrees and aspects,on the other hand,there are inevitable limitations that can not be ignored.
