Comprehensive Material Painting In 《Father’s Family Letters》 Practical Research In Creation

Influenced by Western modern art,Chinese artists have gradually recognized the importance of formal language in painting,and as a result,they have begun to explore the use of mixed media in their creations.This new form of artistic expression not only brings aesthetic enjoyment and spiritual pleasure but also makes the works more contemporary and artistic.As time goes by,with the frequent exchange and interaction between Eastern and Western art cultures,Western modern art has entered the public eye,and Chinese artists have increasingly dared to experiment and innovate with various materials in painting.Based on the research and practice of the “Letters from My Father” series,this article discusses the author’s exploration of mixed media painting through studying excellent artists’ creation cases,focusing on the process of using and mastering certain materials and techniques,and combining with the characteristics of rapid technological development in today’s art trend.The study of mixed media painting has important significance in the contemporary era for creators.The author believes that the biggest difference between mixed media painting and traditional painting lies in the freedom of material application.The entire creation process is more productive.At the same time,the key to the work is to grasp the overall control of the two-dimensional image.Creators must have the ability to handle two-dimensional images.The relatively free material also needs the creator to rationally and rigorously repeatedly review the overall relationship in the picture.How to select and use materials in creation is also crucial.Creators must think deeply about how to enhance the infectiousness and visual impact of the picture using materials,making the work more expressive of the creator’s subjective emotions.
