Conservation Tourism Development Of Ningbo Cicheng Ancient Town From The Perspective Of Cultural Memory

As a kind of collective knowledge,cultural memory takes its special cultural symbol as the carrier to create collective consciousness.Cultural memory is conducive to the construction of collective "self-image" and identity identification.As a living carrier of traditional culture,ancient town retains relatively complete local cultural characteristics and reflects the living state of ancient town people in different periods.However,with the acceleration of urbanization,the traditional culture of the ancient town has been threatened to a certain extent.The residents of the ancient town gradually ignore or forget their own culture,which makes the traditional culture gradually annihilated in the flood of history.Therefore,it is an important way to protect traditional culture to recall cultural memory and form cultural identity.Ningbo government’s recognition and protection of Cicheng Ancient Town mainly start from the architectural aspects of ancient dwellings,academies,ancient temples and so on.However,it neglects the inheritance and protection of the intangible cultural heritage of Cicheng Ancient town,such as traditional festivals,folk customs,festival culture and folk food.One way to solve this problem is to awaken people’s "cultural memory" and reconstruct local people’s collective cultural identity,so as to consciously protect and inherit the "intangible culture" and promote the further development of the ancient town of Cicheng.Through three field visits,the author understands the development status of Cicheng Ancient Town from the perspective of its geographical location,cultural and historical development and tourism history.Taking material and intangible culture as the entry point,the author combs through material culture such as ancient dwellings,religious places,academy buildings,archway,Taimen,ancient Wells,ancient Bridges,and intangible culture such as festivals,art,imperial examinations,food and marriage,and extracts the most representative cultural memory symbols of Cicheng Ancient Town by using cultural memory theory and cultural semiotics theory.Then,taking these cultural symbols as the main research object,the paper analyzes the protection and inheritance dilemma of the ancient town culture in the tourism development,that is,the weak protection consciousness of the ancient town residents leads to the serious damage of the landscape.Inheritors are scarce and lack innovation consciousness;The improper development of tourism products leads to the weakening of traditional culture distortion;The backward experience management level leads to imperfect supporting facilities.Finally,in view of the difficulties faced in the development,this paper puts forward the development approaches of cultural tourism in Cicheng Ancient Town: first,reconstruct the traditional cultural charm;Second,the construction of traditional culture inheritance system;Third,promote the innovation and transformation of traditional culture;Fourth,improve the ancient town tourism facilities.In conclusion,this paper makes an empirical study on the protection of the ancient town culture in tourism under the framework of cultural memory theory.In order to promote the development,inheritance and preservation of ancient town culture.
