| The bronze bo bells,which first appeared in the late Shang period,were absorbed into the music suspension system of the Zhou people,and their shape,arrangement,musical performance and use system continued to evolve and progress with the development of the times and the needs of aristocratic rites.As one of the material carriers of the ritual music system in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties,the study of bronze bells have always been widely valued by all walks of life.However,for a long time,most of the thematic studies on bronze bells have focused on the examination of the inscription content of individual cases,the analysis of musical performance,or the combing and research of materials in a certain period of time in a certain region,and lack all-round and systematic discussion.Therefore,this paper will take the bronze bo bells of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties in China as the study object,and the full text is divided into six chapters for systematic study.The first chapter is the introduction.Firstly,the reason for the selection of the topic of this paper is introduced,and the selection criteria and connotation of the research object are clarified,and the names of each part are illustrated.Secondly,comb through previous relevant studies.Finally,the research objectives and ideas of this paper are briefly summarized.The second chapter is dedicated to the morphological analysis and the chronlogy of the bronze bo bells in the Shang and Zhou dynasties.According to the presence or absence of the flange,the bronze bo bells of the Shang and Zhou dynasties are divided into two types,and according to the differences in the shape of the two flanges,the type A are divided into three classes;according to the difference in the suspension of the bo bells,the type B are divided into six classes.Under some classes,sub-classes can be subdivided according to the differences in shape details,and for some classes and sub-classes,where the features slowly change over time,a sequential analysis is carried out.On the basis of typological research,some of the bronze bo bells that are controversial in age are analyzed,and finally the development stages of bronze bo bells in the Shang and Zhou dynasties are preliminarily divided into six periods.The third chapter is about diachronic changes in distribution and regional characteristics.According to the periodization results,the diachronic changes of the geographical distribution of bronze bo bells were observed.According to the characteristics of spatial agglomeration situation and shape arrangement of the bo bells,it is divided into six regions and summarizes the characteristics of each region.The forth chapter discusses the origins and development of the bronze bo bells.Based on the shape analysis and periodization distribution of bronze bo bells in the Shang and Zhou dynasties,the development and evolution relationship and source flow of various types of bronze bo bells were preliminarily analyzed and discussed.The fifth chapter is the study on the usage patterns of bronze bo bells in tombs during the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.On the basis of the above study,the differences in the tomb owner’s status hierarchy,gender,combination characteristics of musical instruments and burial position reflected in the burial of bronze bo bells in tombs are discussed.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,where the results of this study is synthesized and summarized. |
