| The granting of marriage and divorce in Liao dynasty was characterized by strong interference of political power.The rulers of Liao dynasty had a profound background and political need in choosing the object of marriage,and divorce also had complicated political considerations,so,it is necessary to conduct a deep-seated interpretation of the problem of marriage and divorce in Liao dynasty from the perspective of political power.In other words,it must be the Liao dynasty emperor or Queen(empress dowager)intervention of marriage,and historical materials clearly recorded as "Give" cases of marriage,only included in the scope of this study.The first two chapters of this paper respectively analyze the Liao rulers’ marriage-granting to the Han officials and the Khitan people nobility.The first chapter focuses on the analysis of the Han people who were granted marriage in Liao dynasty,and discusses them according to three categories: the members of the Han family,the Han people’s confidants and the Han officials who descended from Liao in Song dynasty,this paper analyzes the reasons why the rulers of the Liao dynasty granted marriage to them from the perspective of the special period and the family background,personal ability and the influence of the marriage between the two parties.The second chapter focuses on the Khitan people nobles who were granted marriage in the Liao dynasty.In addition to their family background,in-laws and personal abilities,this chapter analyses the Khitan people nobles who were granted marriage in the Liao dynasty,it also discusses the political situation and the change of political power reflected by the marriage and its far-reaching influence on the development of their whole family.Next,the author makes an in-depth analysis of the divorce events in Liao dynasty,and discusses the political power struggle and the change of political power behind these events,as well as the political situation of the Liao dynasty after the event the changes in family power.The concluding remarks summarize the three characteristics of marriage and divorce in the Liao dynasty from the perspective of political power.First,the Emperor of Khitan people in the Liao dynasty courted Han officials through marriage,and strengthened the influence of Han families,to counterbalance the power of Khitan people’s ruling clique in order to strengthen imperial power and consolidate its rule.Second,in the marriage process,Khitan people’s rulers to maintain the authority of the imperial power will be punished“Non-cooperation”to ensure that the supremacy of the imperial power.Third,the Queen or Empress Dowager of Khitan people was also involved in many marriages or divorces,but ultimately the control remained with the emperor,whose support or attack depended on the preservation of imperial power.In a word,marriage and divorce were part of the power construction of the rulers of Liao dynasty,and the ultimate aim was to maintain the rule.This article will give marriage and divorce as the center,political power as a clue to the Liao dynasty marriage-related research throughout.Through the research,we can find that no matter grant marriage or divorce,it has strong political power to interfere color,marriage is a part of the power construction of the rulers of Liao dynasty,through grant marriage,divorce form,khitan people’s rulers can not only generalize their subjects,but also reconstruct the structure of political power to strengthen imperial power and consolidate their rule. |
